Parking was a little busy on a Sunday morning but that's to be expected. The place has the most beautiful and relaxing ambiance. There was live music and the food was fairly good. Ashlie was a wonderful server and was attentive.

We came to State of Confusion for the inaugural dinner for our dining group, The Good Food Club. We arrived before our 6pm reservation and were seated promptly. While we waited for the rest of our party to arrive, Janell was super attentive and made sure we were ok. I ordered the monkey bread which is savory and fantastic and then had the gator gumbo (which definitely has gator...lol) it was flavorful, had great depth and was definitely filling. For dessert, I had the black bottom pecan pie with a coffee ice cream and while I'm not a huge sweets person I would have this one again. All in all we had a great meal and a wonderful time with Janell. Great job to this restaurant.

The space has a loft quality about it. There's no sound dampening. The murals are colorful and quite enjoyable.Had the Mexican ceviche. I'm not big on spice and by the end my mouth and lips were on fire. Didn't realize there was so much pepper of the spicy variety mixed in. It's vibrant and bright. Next time, I'd see if the pepper could be removed. There was a healthy amount of shrimp. For brunch, there's a bar with little salads and baked goods. The dulce cinnamon roll was okay as was the tomato and onion salad.

This was probably my third time to state of confusion, and today parking was a little hard to find. I had to go around the block three times before I found parking on the street which was fine. I arrived for a brunch and the complementary brunch buffet was very sparse and I had to tell the waiter twice before they refilled it but when they did, I thoroughly enjoyed the cinnamon rolls and the tomato onion salad. I ordered the chicken and funnel cake entrée. I requested the funnel cake to be fried south, it came back a little Oily, but it was still good. The chicken tenders were delicious and had a sprinkle of white powdered sugar on top. I ordered the big mimosa canister for $15 which is a great deal, it equals out to at least five or 6 cups of mimosa. Today was a good visit to the state of confusion but definitely not my best. The waitress took 10 minutes of Moore. Every time she came to visit us or we had to track her down so maybe they were understaffed today. I'll visit again but hopefully next time. The waiter will be more prompt.

I gave my best friend the reigns on planning my birthday dinner this year and last week was the big day! We ended up here and our reserved table was ready when we arrived. The ambience was fantastic and the service from our server Tyler was great! The food was super flavorful and I loved the Creole/Latin American fusion! Would definitely go back!

Aji Chicken Egg Rolls (5/5): These were AMAZING. I loved the texture and appreciated how full each egg roll was filled. The peppery flavor was great and I liked dipping the egg rolls in both sauces. Good portion size too!Black Bottom Pecan Pie (5/5): Dense, sticky, and sweet. I really liked the chocolate bottom and the lucuma ice cream was caramel-y and delicious. Jambalaya (5/5): Very good jambalaya with lots of meat and lots of flavors. I REALLY liked how it was served on a hot skillet because it kept the jambalaya hot and left some crispy rice at the bottom. Cracker Breaded Shrimp (3/5): Wasn't a big fan of the breading which was kinda like the breading you'd find on a chicken tender. The sauce was also just ok. Monkey Bread (3/5): Basically just rolls with cheese on top. Still tasted pretty good, but nothing special.Beignets (2/5): Maybe I just don't really like beignets? I thought it was too bready and not deep fried enough or sweet enough.RATING SYSTEM5 - Great (Need to get this again)4 - Good (Would get this again)3 - Ok (Might give this another shot)2 - Not Good (Won't get this again)1 - Bad (Telling people to avoid this)

My friends had been here before for drinks and wanted to try the food so they suggested it for brunch. We made a reservation online but it wasn't all that packed when we arrived past 11am.Parking was a bit weird though. Spots by the building are few and hard to get. So we drove around for 30 min not realizing you could park in the gravel lot next to it. Parallel parking is almost nonexistent. Bumper to bumper. They do have complimentary baked goods to eat while waiting for your food: cookies, muffins, potato salad. For entrees, I got eggs Benedict (eggs trivette on the menu). It came with bologna and craw fish. Delicious! And very filling. My friends tried the steak and eggs, funnel cake with tenders, chicken fried chicken, chimichurri steak, breakfast burrito, and the breakfast sandwich. It's a lot of food for the price! Not bad at all. Everyone loved it!We also tried the aguas frescas mimosa. Strawberry basil. Not bad. Not too sweet at all.Great place to hang out with groups! They played a lot of 80s music.

The fried beef tacos came highly recommended, and they didn't disappoint! Really delicious, perfect serving size. I had guacamole and chips on the side, and Rebecca had to roll me out of there. She was super nice. I can't wait to return!

I had the pleasure of visiting this restaurant last night and it was a nice time! Our server's name was Janelle and she took care of us in a great way! The food came out in a timely manner and it was delicious. I had the monkey bread appetizer, along with skirt steak entree, and the black bottom pecan pie which was amazing! The atmosphere did not disappoint either. It's an open floor plan in an industrial warehouse like setting. There was a good vibe throughout the place among guests and staff. I will be returning and hopefully I can get Janelle again, she was awesome! K.K. Brown
