Stamey's Barbecue of Tyro

Chopped bbq tray was good but not great (I prefer lexington bbq right down the street) red slaw tasted fresh and had a good tang to it. Hush puppies were really good! Light and crispy with a fluffy inside. Service was above expectations and the waitresses were kind and attentive. Good breakfast if you make it in before 11:00am.

They have Southern breakfast options and various lunch items. We got BBQ salad, hamburger, chicken pita, fries.. All good. You can sit inside and get wait service or take out. Friendly staff and local favorite. Tyro is small enclave in Davidson County. They have tables and booth seating. Clean. No obvious Signature dishes, but consistent quality.

First time trying this place. Bumped into this place with friends today. I really enjoyed my 1/2 chicken plate and cheer wine. They have this good cube ice that I like. Sauce is light and has a good flavor. I liked their mashed potatoes and gravy. Slaw is red and I like the white - so I tried the Mac n cheese - it was good - nothing crazy. Prices are right at this place - just a great small town restaurant. Met my expectations and I can tell I am going to eat here again. They take credit cards. Lots of locals eating here. BBQ but also has burgers and such. If you are nearby and looking for a place to fill your belly - this place will fit the bill.

We ordered some food to-go. I wanted the pulled pork platter with rolls instead of hush puppies. Well, the rolls are just hamburger buns lol. Joke was on me with that one. Haha. My wife got the pulled pork nachos. Nothing special. Just plain tortilla chips and nacho cheese from a can. The pork has a nice Smokey flavor, but pretty dry. The bbq slaw is just regular slaw with bbq sauce in it. It's not the best bbq I've ever had but not the worst either. Would I die to go back? No. If that's all that was available in the bbq department I'd go. Other than that it's just pretty plain. Nothing I can't fix at home.

Some of the best Lexington style BBQ I have had to date!My fiance and I decided to try Stamey's one night recently for dinner when we just wanted a nice quick simple meal. We seated ourselves and waited for our server to come take our order. Then we waited a little longer, and then a little longer. But finally our server stopped by and took our drink order and since we were ready we went ahead and told her our food order at the same time. (I will mention that the waitress noticed this and when she brought the check she took off our drinks to make up for the wait. Certainly a nice touch!) I got the chopped bbq sandwich and curly fries, while my fiance got a Dragon burger with crinkle cut fries. FYI, a Dragon burger is just a standard burger named after the local school mascot. One neat thing is they have 3 versions of fries on the menu to cover just about anything you may be craving in the potato family! Curly, crinkle, or home fries!A short wait and our food was brought out. I took a bite into my bbq sandwich and was very pleased! The bbq was cooked great and had some definite hardwood smoke flavor to it. The slaw was good, but nothing overly impressive either. I really liked their sauce that came on the sandwich as it had plenty of flavor but also was not so strong you did not taste the pork either. The chopped BBQ had just a hint of the chopped skin to give it just a little different consistency, which I am a big fan of. My fiance's burger was a good average burger, certainly nothing wrong with that and it was certainly larger than average!As for our sides of fries, both were very good! Unlike a lot of places, the crinkle cut fries were cooked properly and not soggy like a lot can be. If you are a fan of ranch with your fries they were glad to bring out a small cup to us!Definitely a worthy stop on any BBQ tasting trip around Lexington, and also a great stop for a quick dinner! They also have a large breakfast menu we may try at some point as well!

Solid BBQ out in West Davidson. Always stop by when we've got a ball game in that area. Friendly staff, quick service, good food and great prices.

Been a long time customer of Stamey's. The staff is always remarkable and if your food isn't right they fix it with a smile. The atmosphere is always happy and relaxing. The specials are on point and reasonable prices considering our economy.

The standard lexington bbq, but they have more of a variety than other bbq places. There is also more room and you can have a larger party and not feel crowded. The cobbler is the best!

Recently the food has been terrible. Today it was burned chicken tenders and mush fries. If you wouldn't eat it, don't send it to a customer. Not sure what happened to this place but it's garbage! Never again!

Food and service always decent. The young ladies working always keep things moving along and the food is always pretty good.
