Fantastic food, fantastic service. Both me and my wife had the vegetarian unlimited thali, and it was great. We previously tried the Malai Kofta, which was so soft and tasty, it literally melted in the mouth lol.Great food, great ambience. Highly recommend.

My husband and I love Indian food, and decided to try Sri Balaji Kitchen, a vegetarian restaurant specializing in South Indian Cuisine. When we sat down, they brought small cups of a cold beverage made with spices and a bit of sugar. It was tasty, but I would have preferred an unsweetened version. We started with one of our all-time favorite appetizers, the Tandoor Sizzling Paneer. The paneer was served on a sizzling cast iron skillet on top of shredded cabbage, and included green peppers (but no onions). On the side, they provided mint chutney and a semi-sweet sauce. The paneer was delicious. It wasn't crispy, but the marinade they used was fantastic, and we especially loved the mint chutney on the side. The menu said this was spicy, but I'd give it a 5/10 in terms of heat. We've only had dosas once before so we went with a simpler one, the Ghee Dosa. It was delightfully crispy and light, and the sauces were OUTSTANDING--especially the two red ones (one predominantly garlic, and one predominantly red pepper). The sambar soup was also tasty. The light green sauce was good as well, but I didn't reach for it as much as the two red sauces. We also tried the Paneer Butter Masala. The sauce was rich and delicious, and the paneer was perfect. I actually ate a few spoonfuls of the sauce once we had eaten all of the paneer--the sauce was that good! The dish comes with rice, and we added butter naan.We were stuffed when done, and didn't have any leftovers. We loved all of our choices, and can't wait to return and try a few other dishes!

This restaurant never disappoints . . . I've dined in five times now (and ordered take out three times) and the quality of their food is top notch! The inside of this restaurant is GORGEOUS (and the service is attentive). Definitely a great spot for out of town guests (and family dinners alike.)

Loved the ambiance!! Service was ok as they seemed to be short on staff. Thali, which was served promptly, was ok and other food we ordered took a long time to arrive and was not memorable. Was expecting a lot more based on reviews and a bit disappointed!!

We have had very mixed experiences at this all-vegetarian place. The owners seem intent on cutting corners at all costs, resulting in perennial understaffing, long delays in getting the food out, and general sense of apathy. Additionally the attitude of the gentleman that runs the place leaves you wishing you had picked a different place.Let's talk about the food. You get a mish mash of fantastic food with downright bad food. Luck of draw? The ambiance is great and fits the bill. Service is poor and seems to vary depending on some mystery variables. Don't ever consider the weekend buffet .. unless you are a fan of waiting in line for food ... and love the art of waiting.Prices are on the high side and don't appear to be in sync with the quality of food and service. I wish CLT had better options but for now these guys are one of only two all-vegetarian South Indian places in town, and they are taking advantage of this!

Don't bother. The worst dining experience I have had in decades. My wife and I were basically ignored while tables of 8 people were served appetizers and entrees nearly immediately. I finally got my vegetable fried rice - a simple dish- after waiting 40 minutes. After nearly an hour, my wife said "We're leaving" - she was very upset. I paid for my dinner and left. Food was so-so. Had to give it one star because I couldn't give it zero. Awful.

Delicious and flavorful South Indian cuisine. Highlight recommend. Has to be a monthly thing for our family. It's also really beautiful and calming inside. It's so close to us and very convenient.
