Always homey and welcoming. Usually seat yourself status. So many great options for a good southern meal. Recently opened back up for breakfast, but they seatve breakfast all day on Wednesday.Sweet customer service, family owned for 100 years! Not too big on the Salisbury steak, but the fried chicken or the chicken pie is comforting!

Went in for take out. Lady was distracted taking my order, looking around side to side at various happenings in diner, and seemed to give me a "go to hell" look. I ordered BBQ chopped chicken, white meat but got whole pieces white and dark with BBQ sauce poured on top and it was missing one side.. The food was good, but.. Seems cozy and there were a lot of customers and conversations going on.

Yesterday I decided to go to Lexington and check out this place I found on Google Maps. I got there and was a little confused at first because three different buildings had the sign for this place. When I found it, it was packed. I had to sit at the bar and then there were people waiting to get in. I ordered the fried chicken plate and was shocked to discover it came with three pieces, when two is normally what I'm expecting. I really thought the chicken was seasoned and cooked very well and the sides were really nice too. I love that they have the option for rice, and also that they used real silverware instead of plastic. I can definitely see myself going back.

Our server was so sweet that day. This place gives offSmall town vibes for our little town. If you're in the mood for some country food this is the spot to go. Unfortunately my chicken was over cooked and a little tough but it was still good lol. They have odd hours though so be sure to check.

Southern lunch is like taking a trip to the time, of trains where a chief transportation. Their style of food is very good. From items like fried chicken and their chicken pie is my favorite. My wife enjoys the pork tenderloin . Their sides are good also.

Today was my first time dining here. I was very pleasantly surprised to find a down home, country restaurant so close to home. We went around 1:30 and it was still quite full. The booths were filled with happy folks who seemed to be very comfortable there. There is a good selection of food from country, seafood, pasta, etc. They also offer daily specials displayed on the white boards. I had the Reuben sandwich combo and enjoyed it very much. Their sweet tea is perfect (if you know anything about sweet tea in the south) and the server very accommodating and kind.I learned as we were leaving that there is quite a history to this restaurant. The young lady on the register is the granddaughter of the second owner of this establishment that was begun in 1925!

Very cool restaurant in Lexington by the railroad near the old depot. Heard a lot about it. Everyone's food looks scrumptious! Can't wait to try mine.Thirty minutes later... Fabulous restaurant! I cannot say enough good things. You don't find good food like this that often. Spectacular! The service was great! Sweetest young lady ever and very helpful. The restaurant is extremely clean and decorated with train station memorabilia since it is in the district of the old train depot. The people are very friendly and thankful to have you there. The owner, Mr. Lohr came to our table and talked for about 30 minutes. He gave us the history of the restaurant. A large wall mural depicts the time when his grandfather started the restaurant in the early 1900s and the train pulling in next to the depot. So interesting and admirable to see a 3rd generation business still going strong. A restaurant in business for almost 100 years speaks loudly! They offer breakfast, country cooking (all kinds), chicken, wings, seafood (looked scrumptious!), burgers, fries, hot dogs, hoagies, salads, and some Italian. They also have daily specials. The prices were very reasonable. This place will most likely become one of our regulars. Honestly, there are not enough stars.
