It was love at first sight with this place. Not only do they offer several great wines to buy, they offer some wonderful pottery and drinking accessories you can purchase right along with it.First, the wines! They offer a little over 20 wines, with their primary selection being fruit wines. Their red and white wines aren't bad, but they have some AMAZING fruit wines here. I generally prefer semi-dry wines, but I can appreciate a great dry or sweet wine. Their wines average about $11-15 a bottle, with a few higher end red wines at much higher prices. I did not have one wine I disliked out of about 15 wines I tried. Here are some of my favorites:Honeysuckle - with a good balance of sweetness, the fruity wine is smooth and light. (4/5)South Charm - I generally find peach wines too sweet, but I liked this one. The peach was not too overwhelming. (4/5)Edisto Black - this is by far my favorite wine! Very smooth and fruity, and you really can't taste the alcohol in it. Yuuuuum! (5/5)Blue Moon - loved the blueberry flavor! Also very smooth. (4/5)In addition, the location was wonderful. The inside was filled with both light and dark wood, giving it a nice Southern feel. Both of the staff members working were friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about the wine. A staff member informed us they used the minimum about of sulfates to preserve the wine, which she said gives it a smoother taste (and less propensity for a hangover). My only complaint is with the tasting. It's $6 per person, I think, and you have to pick only 6 of their wines. I went with three other people, so of course I got to try a little of theirs. It's hard to decide which ones to try, and of course, the samples are too small. However, you do get a nice glass to take back with you, so it's really not a bad deal.I will definitely be back. Who could resist reasonably priced, delicious local wine?

Small, but extremely friendly staff. If you do a wine tasting, Ask for Laurie ( maybe laura). Very knowledgeable, outgoing and made us feel comfortable. We were surprised (and pleased) that there are only two muscadine wines on the list. They buy grapes from all over the country and make the wine right there on premises. Several were really good. We didn't have a wine that we didn't like to some extent. Our group bought several bottles to enjoy.

I recently started a new remote gig. Since interoffice connectivity is limited at best, I reached out to Emily Smith at Southern Charm Winery. I needed a gift for a retiring colleague, and she was more than helpful. They handled everything I asked for including response texts with images, receipts, and she personally delivered it to my colleague's home. The service and commitment was way above my expectations... I have shared my success story using Southern Charm Winery with everyone...

There is no associated vineyard and the winery is in a downtown shop. A couple of the wines were ok but none of them were great. The staff were pleasant but not particularly knowledgeable about the wines. Not recommended.
