I ventured out to the South Wine & Hops Festival where I tasted some amazing wines and met some great vendors like Leslie at Pink Daisy Candle & Body Company, and the stylish ladies from Wilder & Soul boutique. There were several representatives from the surrounding apartment buildings, and lightning patrons of the amenities at their apartment, buildings; Shaquana & Nichole from the Penrose Southend apartments (South Ends luxurious dream apartments), Tyler from SkyHouse uptown apartments which have breathtaking views from both of their 24 story high-rise apartment buildings with plenty of amenities on the top floor and Daquan from the Savoy uptown who was excited to share information about their pet friendly, mid -rise building conveniently located in the heart of Charlotte, with a resident favorite all access live podcast studio in the lower lever parking deck. A few other exceptional vendors that deserve a shoutout were Shanon from Touché Skincare, who has been making homemade products for 13 years (her products are featured at the Gantt Center and at CLT Douglas airport). One more vendor that caught my attention was Thomasina from Spa N Party; her products were so aromatic that you could smell them beyond the smell of libationsBack to the wine; Shayla one of the volunteers poured me a taste of the most delightful sangria called "Pura Sangria," (which quickly sold out), but and another fave amongst the pack was the Apple Cider hops. The event was sponsored by Lenny Boy Brewery, who did a great job with this event. All of the wines and hops featured at event are served at Lenny Boys Brewery so if you didn't come out to the event, you can stop in for a taste any time.

This was my 2nd year in a row going and I got to bring my bestie who was in town visiting. We had a blast!!!! There were no crazy long lines while we were there, which is extremely commendable. I feel like so many Charlotte festivals oversell their events for money and then the attendees suffer because you spend all your time waiting in long lines. But this crew knew what they were doing and I thank them! Everyone we went up to for a sample was super informative and nice. We really had a blast. Definitely going again next year! Great event, great organization!

Not a bad jam for the wine lovers out there. It's organized by the same folks and takes place in the same lot that the similarly named beer festival does on the opposite side of the calendar. Fair warning: parking around here sucks! So plan on getting an uber or getting a work out, one.I was considerably surprised to find plenty of ciders on tap here too! Which hit the spot for me because, let's face it, I don't care for wine. I couldn't tell you how many vendors were here but they set it up in a different sort of way here. Most brewfests feature the brewers on-site pouring their own beer. Here, the organizers handed out bottles of wine and buckets of ice to the various advertising vendors (local apartment complexes, organizations, Lidl supermarket, etc.) to pour into the cute little stemless wine glasses for attendees. There were tons of good food trucks including my two favorites: Papi Queso and Tin Kitchen. Never a line at the pink port-a-potties - always a win. Lots of ladies in attendance. I hate to say it, but women tend to dig wine more than men. The yelp booth last year had "build-your-own cork charms". Pretty neat! People are all about that free chapstick though.Loud and live band plays covers of hits throughout the day, totally uncensored. And yeah, like with any other festival it starts to turn into an S-show at the end. (I'll let y'all use your imagination to figure out that abbreviation.) Lotsa drunk folks unable to walk. It's actually good people watchin', I won't lie. In the end though, always a pleasure to meet and chat with most folks.

This wine festival supports a cause that's near and dear to me...Classroom Central. Classroom Central equips students in need to effectively learn by collecting and distributing free school supplies to their teachers. As an educator, nothing pains me more than a student that says "I can't take this quiz, I don't have a pencil!" The classroom supplies I've received over the past decade have been instrumental in supporting my students.I have served as a volunteer for this festival for two years and I'm more than happy to do so. If you can donate to this worthy cause, please do.!!Teachers can inspire hope, ignite the imagination, and instill a love of learning. #TeachingIsMySuperPower#WhatsYours

I attended the South End Wine Festival in 2018 and I can't wait to go back in 2019. It was great. They have all different kinds of wines, the selection was great. The location was nice, it was walk-able from uptown. They also had a beer garden for anyone who is interested in taking a break from wine. Two food trucks were there which was awesome because you'll probably need food eventually if you are there the entire time. Several of the vendors offered swag. I came home with a coozie, a hat, and card carrier for my phone. Overall this is a great way to spend an afternoon with friends, get outdoors, and support a great cause.

Really loved this wine festival. They had a wide variety of reds, whites, and roses. The booths were a little eclectic.. everything from apartment complexes, to dog boarding, to restaurants. They had about 4 food trucks, a live band, two or three clothing shops as well. Downside: there was no way to track what wine you had. It was hard to remember which table you had been to and if you liked it or not. Wish they had a sheet you could take notes on or check off the wines you liked. Can't wait for next year!

This was my first year at the wine festival and I loved it. The ticket price was well worth the experience, we upgraded to VIP with a group of friends which gave us a reserved table under the tent and four bottles of wine - an awesome deal. I loved that there are plenty of wine options, but they have beer and cider as well. There were even a couple cocktail samples - so yes, it's heavy on wine, but there truly are so many options for everyone. The band was great, it was fun to have live music playing throughout the area. There were a good mix of vendors and artists who had booths to check out as well, so you get a break from just the alcohol. The only reason I'm giving 4 instead of 5 is I wish there had been more food options - there was only two food trucks available for the whole festival. If they added a couple more I would definitely give this a 5/5.

Great event with fun people. I had a ball. Unlimited wine for a few hours what's not to love. The event was very organized. It was nice that all the staff were from the community and could share information that was a nice bonus. It was perfect weather and sold out. Loved the candy at each stop trick or treating for candy and wine as an adult is so much cooler. The live band was a nice addition. I didn't listen to their great hits but people seemed engaged. Food trucks were good as well. The lines were way long. Maybe more food venders in the next year....I hate the port a potty, but I guess that comes with the outside territory. They are so funky. I was able to event get some charlotte gear. Everyone was nice and friendly.... guess alcohol has that affect on people. Overall great event and had fun playing the games, getting info, drinking, eating, spending time with friends, and shopping,
