1st time stopping in and I guess 1st timers get a little something extra Hair in my eggs Service was fast and place was pretty basic

Breakfast & Lunch. Taste & Value. Nom."Predictable, respectable. Birds fly out of here so well, well WHY the hell can't I? I only want variety. Variety!"If you are Eva Peron pitching a hissy fit, take your prima donna's rage right on down the block to Burger King where you CAN have it your way. Badly.The rest of us will be all the happier for it.If, ON THE OTHER HAND, you want to leave all that fuss and bother behind and enjoy a tasty plate of breakfast or a burger, settle in and let the friendly and competent folks here at the South 21 Family Restaurant handle things.You've got enough to worry about. Messing around with the menu and the process shouldn't be a part of the dining experiment.And it WON'T BE here. I promise. They've been at it a while.Enjoy!

This is the only location that averages 3.5 stars on yelp...the other 3 average 4 stars. They are also the only location that closes early.....so im guessing they just focus on breakfast.My client took me here for a quick late lunch since it was just around the corner. According to him, this location has a smaller menu too.Probably should have ordered their fried chicken, it was a daily special that day but I was craving a burger, so I chose the double patty one and added bacon. Each patty is pretty thin, so order 3 if you are hungry. The burger was ok, just not the typical lower quality burger I order. Maybe it works for the area this location is in, where people just want a hot meal.The onion rings are not that good, lots of breading and the frozen variety. The service was not great either. The cashier was sort of rude and so that didn't help much. Although we arrived 1 hr before closing, she acted like we were a huge inconvenience to them.

Best fried fish! Onion rings are huge and delish. Service is fast and friendly. Our favorite "dive" to drop in for lunch during the week. Closed on weekends.

I judge all burgers against this place. It's the absolute best! Don't get to come down enough to try other things but hear it's all good! Thank you

The sign out front says that the South 21 restaurant on Brookshire has the best breakfast, period. And I agree!We ordered two eggs scrambled, hash browns, grits, sausage and coffee. Wow, breakfast was incredibly good. Especially the grits. Best ever...anywhere. Be advised, they use a lot of butter.And the portions are large.But the prices are very reasonable.Worth a try.

Nothing like a burger & coke from this cool old school establishment! Glad I had lunch here today.

I'm pleasantly surprised! I heard about South 21. The atmosphere is a great old-time feel. The staff is very friendly. I had the special Fried Filet Trout. I expected some flat piece of trout, but I got 3 big pieces full of meat. The onion rings were great homemade. I saw another person have their Super Boy Burger, and that's my next order. The other surprise is that this only location serves breakfast of all the South 21.

Food was fresh and quick. Service was friendly. I had the Super Boy with fries and it didn't disappoint. Will definitely go here again soon!

The grilled chicken is the best in town. The onion rings look great, but not so much.
