DELICIOUS! The storefront was cute, in an older looking plaza. The place is definitely order, grab, and go. Just a touch of seating as folks wait, mixed with homey decor. Their flavors are tried and true southern and sooo good! I little had a vegetarian side plate, and it was Perfect. My Ma had some fried okra, white rice, and fried chicken. Which she said tasted greatly authentic. When I am back in Charlotte, they will definitely get my business again! Plus their online ordering system was so easy, and it actually worked! Loveeee

This is regards to the Concord Mall location. I will not be returning and will definitely not recommend. Only reason I gave 1 star is because I couldn't give 0 .Ordered online so I came after it said it was ready for pickup. Stood at the register for 15min before someone told me to pickup at the other window. Girl at the window acted like I was talking a foreign language and said my order wasn't ready so waited 10 more minutes for the guy that was doing all the work to ask me who I was picking up for, to turn around and my order was there the entire time. It wasn't busy and no one that was waiting on orders looked happy. I don't care how good your food is, it's not worth it when the customer service sucks. It's not many good soulfood places to choose from in the area so I would've been a repeat customer. I'll just keep on taking a drive to Greensboro before I spend another dollar here

When I tell you...each and every time I go, I always have some for later! This amazing spot is where everyone needs to come to when they craving soul food! I was STARVING and wanted something hearty and we stopped by here! The service is always amazing and I was the only one there!I wanted the meatloaf, Mac and cheese and green beans and my hubby wanted fried chicken wings, okra, and mac and cheese! EVERYTHING WAS BEYOND AMAZING!!! The chicken wings were cooked to order and it was soooooo good, I'm surprised he shared a wing with me! Even the cornbread tastes like cake! The ambiance was fine, music from the 2000s were playing so I happily waited! Every time we come, it's great comfort food and honestly the best around! I would recommend everyone to go check them out!!!

Very good proportions! Food was seasoned well and had lots of choices. The candied yams were so sweet and good to the last piece. The collard greens make you want more! The smothered pork chops taste like someone's grandmother is back there throwing down!

Online ordering was easy and convenient. They do charge a small fee, but was worth it since I didn't have to wait or pay for my order when I arrived. The food was hot and fresh. The taste was overly seasoned. Some people would of course like that, but for my mom and myself it was a bit much. I did enjoy the subtle heat of the collard greens.

I have eaten here twice. Once from DoorDash and once walk-in. The Mac and cheese and candy yams were delicious. The fried chicken I ordered during the walk-in was okay (just needed a bit more love). Also, during the walk-in the service was slow. Everybody seemed preoccupied with something else and they actually forgot about my order while I was standing there waiting (maybe it was just a bad moment to be there, it happens, no big deal). They have a really clean place with bright lights and you can watch them as they cook your food. Overall, a very good place to eat.
