Sogo Express Japanese Restaurant

The food was good, hot & fresh as expected but the establishment itself wasn't clean at all! Cakes of heavy dust were all over the vents which added to the overall dinginess of the place! The front help didn't seem to be 'bothered' or even looked slightly enthused. In almost every business, attitude is everything. If I see that people don't care, neither should I...get your food to go!

Good location. Good parking facilities outside.. we were on our way driving to NC and stopped here for late lunch . Kids got lemonades in Dunkin next door and we ordered food here in Sogo express .. service was good. The chef was quick and made food quickly... ambience wasn't that good . The floor was wet and slippery . Price wise it was cheaper than many other restaurants. Got lunch special for less than 10$, which is rare these days .. but the taste wasn't extraordinary. It was ok. Teriyaki chicken was a bit dry. Not much of spice . Couldn't eat the whole thing . Wish it was tastier .. good food for the price though. Had a good experience but could be better . 3 stars

An employee is texting on her phone. Sitting down and texting on her phone that is all she did. Couldn't even say hey, how are you or you're welcome. Disgusting customer service and to think they pay her to be lazy!

The service is so quick it's almost hard to believe it was t already prepared for me. Still quality is still important to maintain and depending on the time of day you go the rice is mushy and chicken dried out but you get a warning before you just ignore the fact they hardly answer the phone after if the screen the caller id. The staff are basically just there to do their job the kitchen looks ready to cook a buffet as it never looks busy and yet the phone never gets answered. Still a good place to eat just need to catch it before closing time for the best quality food.

The amount of food you get for the price is nice. The fried rice is a little under seasoned, but not really terrible. It does have peas and an onion or two in there. It would be completely unfair if I didn't mention the carrots. The carrots are incomparably delicious! Truly the star of this establishment.Back to the main course...The chicken was over cooked and so very dried out. The shrimp sauce is outstanding! And the only thing that can possibly save this dried out meal. I believe the yummy pink "shrimp" sauce they serve must have traces of shrimp in it. Even though they said "it did not." I am allergic to shellfish and this sauce sparks a terrible rash of hives etc., The service is friendly, fast and the place is clean. This meal is inexpensive, and the chicken is actual "chicken," but I have to be honest. Save the carrots, This food is just not good. As I choke down their desert, dry, bland chicken it is with a heavy heart that honestly I cannot give them more than two stars.

They're still ironing out some kinks with call in orders due to COVID restrictions. If you call in a order for pickup, they have a sign that says to call them and wait in your car so they can bring you your food. If you go on a busy day or time this feature may not work out as planned so I recommend getting in line on busy days. I normally wouldn't recommend this, however I tried to pick up my called in order on a busy day(sunday) and I couldn't even get through to the business due to high call volume. Other than that they no longer allow a certain number of people inside once again due to COVID restrictions so be mindful of the weather and planning accordingly.Other than that they still provide excellent service and good food.

I got food poisoning here this past week. I ordered hibachi chicken and steak, the steak smelled funny and tasted disgusting. I stopped eating it but it was too late as later that night I vomited / other symptoms and had to go to the hospital the following day for dehydration and food poisoning. Never will I ever eat here again. I suggest everyone to stay away from here.

Reliable in the way that their food is always the same low quality and at this point I don't even understand why they ask you how you want your steak cooked because they always make sure it's overcooked and chewy! Also, I don't understand how they're always so dead but yet the inside of their store is so dirty and sticky everywhere and there's always so many employees standing around doing nothing but flirting with each other lol

Food is fresh, delicious & get decent quantity for the price. Service is good. Every time I enters establishment it is clean.

Fast and fair value Japanese food!If your like me, the shrimp sauce makes or breaks your Japanese dining experience. Their sauce is right on!My wife and I call in our order here a couple times a month and she picks up on her way home from work.Easy process!
