Prison toilet water
The meat, bread, and veggie part of the buffet.
Part of the interior, looking toward the buffet, on the far wall.
Chocolate Pie & Coconut Pie - well partially anyway.
More of the interior, plenty of table room, a small movie screen in the back.
Another loaded plate - Fried Chicken, HPS, Biscuit - and the long, flat strips are the very best Fried Squash, ever!
Entrance
A fully loaded plate - mashed potatoes buried under the CS Steak, gren beans & corn, and pintos!

Unfortunately, the restaurant has been closed and sold. We enjoyed it for many years!! The food and the service was always great!! All the best to the Snyder Family in their retirement!! The new owners will remodel and reopen at a later date. God Bless the Snyder Family!!

Do NOT EAT HERE!! I REPEAT!! DO NOT EAT HERE!!! We came 1 hour after they opened and food was cold and stiff. - (mash potato + more to be exact), (probably was served left over). There was no gravy, lettuce was brown and soggy. and Water look like prison toilet water.+ No more mashed potatos we're made after the first batch got gone. Even at the salad bar stuff was empty.. that's not even all of it . Now let's get started on the vents and ceiling. There WAS BLACK MOLD ON 10 OUT OF 16 VENTS, + ON THE CEILING.. customer service was so horrendous. We only got checked up on one time after the 45 minutes we were there. If I could I would GIVE 0 STARS.

Food was good..if u can get any. We were there on Mother's Day and were waiting in line at the buffet to get some fried chicken, but only got wings because the guy behind the bar was filling up a to go box with all the chicken..and I mean ALL the chicken.. all he left was the wings. The salad bar was good. The desserts were terrible. It's like they were an afterthought, throw some crap in a bowl and call it dessert. It took forever to get a waitress to take our drink order and forever again to get them. Good luck getting any refills.

This rural, buffet restaurant is as Southern, as Country as it gets, and has been now for close to 30 years, serving up Fried Chicken, Country Style Steak, Fried Seafood Fri & Sat), Biscuits, Hush Puppies, REAL Mashed Potatoes, and excellent Fried Squash. Throw in a nice salad bar, a few great pie choices, and the friendliest service you could hope for, and you have yourself an excellent country cooking dining experience. The restaurant is a bit larger than most restaurants of this style, and it's a bit worn, and rather dimly lit. The walls are fully decorated with NSCAR memorabilia, with special homage to native son, Richard Petty, who grew up in the nearby community of Level Cross. The buffet is not especially large, nor is it particularly varied - there is fried chicken, country style steak, fried squash, real mashed potatoes, hush puppies, biscuits, and other country veggies every time, with fried seafood thrown in on Fri & Sat nights, and Country Ham available from time to time. The Hush Puppies are as good as any I've ever had - ever! They do not use a mix, but rather prepare their own with flour, corn meal, the tiniest dash of sugar, and liquid - then they fry them perfectly crisp, tender & full of flavor inside. The biscuits have nothing to hang their heads about - dense, yet lite tasting, full of flavor. The CS Steak is very, very nice, and the accompanying gravy is as good as it get, especially when loaded on those thick, creamy mashed potatoes, or sloshed over a biscuit. The Fried Chicken was a bit overdone on this visit, not something I'd encountered previously. The Fried Squash is special here - it is very thinly sliced, and I mean mandolin thin sliced, lightly batter in corn meal, and carefully fried to a delicate level - an amazing preparation of this vegetable. The service is as down home friendly and engaging as you could want, and yet very efficient. The owner stopped by to chat, a most pleasant gentleman. Almost everything about this visit was 5 Star quality, except for the fried chicken, and the overall breadth of the buffet. The price for everything for 2 was $21.29, unquestionably a real value!

This is a good place to eat if you like Southern style food. It is buffet style. The selection is adequate, but it's no Golden Corral. The atmosphere is nice. The place is decorated with racing memorabilia, especially Petty stuff. I had the fried chicken, creamed potatoes, green beans, blackeyed peas, and biscuits. The food was delicious. The only thing I didn't like was that the price of the buffet does not include dessert. Overall, very good place.

We used to go here quite often, however, the last few trips were nothing to write home about. The lady who seats you is the nicest one there, everyone else acts like it's too much to be friendly anymore. Squash is the best thing and really the only reason to go. The salad bar was old lettuce and they really don't have a lot of healthy choices, mostly fried everything... If the salad bar was more fresh then that would be even better!

, NASCAR memorabilia everywhere, leads you to a nice Southern Foods buffet with excellent food! This local favorite has much more to offer than meets the eye. Although the decor both outside and inside could use some updating the food will keep you coming back for more!
