Smithfield's Chicken 'N Bar-B-Q

Great Southern comfort food. Served quickly, with a smile, at a reasonable price. What more could you ask for?

This place is always a must have on our way back from the beach. It is right off the highway. The service is always fast and friendly. While dining in, staff walk from table to table asking if anyone needs a refill. The place was BUSY with 3 lines formed to order and a line at the bathroom. Both lines went by very quickly. People were in and out with no issues.

The food is always excellent, the staff are always friendly and courteous and go out of their way to make customers feel appreciated!

Geez Louise, their prices are ridiculous! We have stopped at this Smithfield's religiously on the way to and from the beach for years but that has come to a screeching halt. Stopped in today and ordered one of our usual, the Tender Snack. Three chicken strips and fries for $14.99!!! Now these are some mighty fine white meat chicken strips, but this price is W-A-Y too much to pay for what you get. Their BBQ plates and sandwiches have also increased in price to a point I'm not willing to pay no matter how good it is.Prices of chicken, oil, labor, and everything that goes into food have gone up, but this is the point where I start packing a peanut butter N' jelly sandwich when on the road. Be prepared to finance your next meal for a family. Smithfield's, I'll see you again if sanity ever returns to food prices.

First time ever to eat here even though we pass by going tmi the beach always. Damn good krispy chicken. And Rusty didn't have to ask for white slaw on his bbq sandwich. I will eat here again.

I'm not impressed. Fried chicken is just barely okay. Wouldn't make me come back soon. In being fair, this was my 2nd time there. I did not like it the 1st time but decided to give them a second chance. There will not be a 3rd. AND....why on earth would any meal require a dozen hush puppies the size of sausages. More is not better...it's just more. 3 would be plenty.

I can only give 3 stars because of the wait in DT and the non southern hospitality of the young lady working the DT. Where do I begin. Mom and I stopped at Smithfield's after leaving Lowe's. Picked up some food for my aunt/ Mom's sister, who's bed ridden. We get to Smithfield's. Mom's raving about their hush puppies. How good they are. The DT menu side aren't that clear. I still swear that's Mac and cheese on the picture. Placing my order. 2 chicken kids meals. One with beans and the other coke slaw after a long discussion of the picture that's not Mac and cheese on the menu. I still don't know what it is. Oh well .I get around the corner and the worker is literally hanging out the window with a 10lbs bag of ice. He's talking to the customer in the car ahead of me. Looks like she's undecided about getting the ice. She slowly pulls up. I guess at her request...he tossed the 10lbs bag of ice through her back window. On to the seat. Then he turns and looks at me. I was like , I'm patiently waiting for the chicken. The non happy crew member, says did she pay for that ice. I just started laughing. If she didn't. It's gone. We get to the window, I ask the young man. Since I'm already paying extra, if I could switch my beans for hush puppies. Wheww...it was like passing a bill though congress. He went to ask the unhappy worker. She told him to go ask the manager. While she's clearly talking about my trade with someone else. She passes by the window. I wave to grab her attention. The guy had walked off to go find a manager. I just said to her what I said to the guy. She says snappingly, I have a dozen pups for you anyway. I just wanted the swap. Nothing free or extra. My moms laughing on the side- I don't know why. Later, I find out that she really loves these hush puppies. I pay and we're driving off. I wish I had stopped to take a picture of the road sign. It read, we're open. Serving you with Gratitude. I wasn't feeling that way today. I'm sure, I wasn't the only one. Needles to say. My aunt had no complaints of her kids snack box with cole slaw and sweet tea. I enjoyed my chicken leg. It was seasoned well. I didn't have to add salt or pepper. The baked beans were spicy. I didn't eat those. My mom however, sat quietly enjoying her hush puppies like a small kid who wasn't going to share. That was the highlight of my visit to Smithfield's. They got what they wanted and enjoyed each other's company.

Smithfield food and service was good.Very good chicken potatoes and slaw. Smithfield employees were courteous and restaurant was clean!

Food too greasy . Waitress not very attentive food could have been better. Tasted like it had been warmed up.

The chicken is always delicious and crispy. Service is good too. Better than a lot of places in Laurinburg
