Silver Creek Campground

Been going there for years! Friendly new owners and everything you need! and $10 tubing ALL DAY! Swimming pool, fishing pond, mini-golf, arcade, and lots more.

Terrible in every possible way! We visited this campground site unseen the weekend of August 1-3, 2020. The tent sites are small and ugly, they have Astro turf at the site that is nearly impossible to stake into. Most sites had little shade. The facilities are not well kept and loaded with shabby patchwork repairs. The pool was not chlorinated and the little store has little to offer in the way of snacks and supplies. The gravel roads on the grounds are tore up with ruts. There are even offensive signs threatening to shoot you on some of the "permanent sites". There is one bathhouse with broken stall doors and two disgusting shower stalls and a group of residents was milking around the bathhouse drinking and blocking the entrance one night. All in all a terrible campground. But that's not all! On our first night 7 police cruisers showed up at 9:30pm and when I walked over to ask one of the police officers what happened he told me I should check out because the campground was a "shithole" and when I asked him if we were in danger he said again he would check out if he were me. The officer told me someone from the "owners party" had an altercation and guns were involved but they couldn't get a straight story from anyone!?! So now, me and my party of 15 are freaked out about the guns and the police officers comments. Nevertheless we stayed as it was late and we were excited to go tubing the next day. On Saturday we had a blast on the river but when we got back to camp a "redneck" in a dark ford pickup with a tattered US flag drove slowly by my 15 year old son and his three friends and called them a bunch of faggots several times before driving off. Turns out this redneck lives there along with half a dozen other rednecks in their crappy RVs at the campground. When I say red neck I mean it in a derogatory way. They were mean, dirty, uneducated people that treated camp visitors like foreign invaders. Unbelievable experience! I was on edge all weekend and could not relax because I thought I may have an altercation with one of the resident rednecks! Please DO NOT CAMP AT SILVER CREEK CAMPGROUND, if you do you in will regret it. I've personally been camping hundred of times all over the country and this was by far the worst camping round I've ever been to because of the crappy amenities and the crappy rednecks living on the property. Be warned.

So we stopped at there tubing location and it was so friendly and laid back. Family owned and operated . For as the tubing goes it's $10 per person . You have a couple of options to start where the camp ground is and go down to the end or go to the starting point up river . We took a bus up to the starting point and the gentle man already had our tubes loaded for us. Along the way we down we stopped at numerous sand beaches/ ropw swings on the river . When we got to the mid point of where the camp ground is, we stopped to eat and then finished the river. We tubed 2x during our trip because we loved it so much. Also if you have neck issues ask for the green tubes they definitely are super comfy. Also if you aren't an experience swimmer get a life jacket . Depending on rain the river can run fast or slow and certain parts it's deep and than some are shallow . But if you have questions they definitely answer them truthfully They accept cash,card, and have clean bathrooms . This place is a true family operated business. I definitely recommend this place

This Park is dumping sewer directly in the ground. The owner Wilma Hill lied since day one. She see nothing wrong with dumping sewer into the ground. She has been turned in to the county as well as Federal Government. Not a good park to go to. If you do don't drink the water.

We stayed in a deluxe cabin, the campground was great and looked like the new owners are making improvements. The only problem I had is waiting 3 weeks to receive my $75 deposit back and having to call multiple times to receive it. The cabin had heat and air. A small bathroom with toilet and shower, sick in the main area. mini fridge and microwave along with a small table and 2 stools, fire ring outside. Sleeping was a little uncomfortable on a futon mattress and the loft is only accessible if you are a child or a very very tiny person.
