Separk Mansion

Amazing. Beautiful. ORGANIZED. Our daughter decided on this location and we lived in Florida. The communication between the staff and us was impeccable and certainly made us feel like we were in GREAT hands. Their attention to detail, as well as, their professional and calming nature was a true gift to myself and our daughter. The staff and venue were more than we could have asked for. Superior in every way.

Beautiful venue for a wedding. We came here for a wedding in July and despite the weather, it was an absolutely beautiful day. The main part of the mansion (downstairs) is the stuff dreams are made of - open floor plan, gorgeous chandelier by the stairway to the upstairs, two glass sunrooms surrounded by mirrors. Because of the rain, instead of having the wedding outside in the small garden area, it was moved upstairs. The upstairs had very short ceilings and was not ideal for a wedding larger than 75 guests in my opinion. Despite the less-than-ideal upstairs space for the ceremony, the main part of the mansion where the reception was held was absolutely gorgeous.

After arranging a tour with Brittanie, my fiancé and I were unable to find her for our 2pm appointment. Kinsey told us she was "on a tour and we could just hang out" until Brittanie finished. No problem! We gave ourselves a quick tour, and as I anticipated, I fell in love with the space. At about 2:40, I was ready to sign on the dotted line, but still no Brittanie. So my fiancé popped back upstairs to ask Kinsey if we should reschedule. She was wrapping up with a client, so she gave us a tour instead. It was during this tour that I realized that my non-negotiable for the day I have been dreaming of since I was 5 years old is customer service, and it is something I found this duo to be lacking. Brittanie did not show up for the tour she scheduled with me (and confirmed the day before via email), and Kinsey seemed to me that she was neither concerned about what we were looking for in a venue or being a good host. We were clearly an inconvenience to her for needing attention. No way in hell would I trust them with such a special day after this experience. I was ready to increase my budget and change my wedding date just to use this space, and the lack of customer service was such a turn off that we will absolutely be using a different venue.I'm sharing this is multiple places, as I have been notified by the Knot that Separk Mansion has reported my review to try to have it removed. It is easy to have 4.9/5 stars if no one is allowed to express negative experiences, which then discredits websites that we (future brides and grooms) are using as references.

Beautiful, amazing, elegant, luxurious, tasteful, fantastic, were just a few of the words I kept hearing our guests use to describe Separk this past Saturday night for our daughter's wedding reception. When we first met with the owner, Shannon, a year ago, we had no idea our event would turn out so perfect. She carefully explained the entire process and the documents that we signed were very thorough and left nothing undefined. She was very easy to communicate with when we had questions. The best thing she did for us was suggest one of her day of coordinators (DOC).It was truly a delight to work with our DOC Brittanie as well as Holly and their other staff members. We were a little different in that we were having our ceremony at a church 25 miles away, so we were not on site the day of to finalize all of the tiny details. Brittanie called ALL vendors at least twice to insure they knew what to do, when to do it, and where to do it. We took to SUV loads of decorations and props over the day before and reviewed with Brittanie approximately where we would like it placed. We were a little worried that it wouldn't be just like we wanted but we were so wrong. She text us pictures on our way over and they were perfect. When we arrived it was as if our daughter had been transported into the dream she had had on many occasions.The best part about working with Separk and their staff was that my wife and I got to enjoy the event. We let Brittanie worry about what was going on behind the scenes and we spent time with our guests and enjoying the night. We had an absolute blast and would not change a single thing if we were doing it again this weekend. My friends know that I am one to try and pinch pennies, but for this event we hired the best caterer, the best florist, the best photographer, the best baker, and we had the event at the best location in the Charlotte area. I spent way too much money and blew the budget that I swore we would keep, but we created so many good memories this past weekend it was all worth it! You only get one opportunity to do your daughters wedding right, and Separk helped us surpass our expectations.Cheers Y'all!!!

The staff at separk did an amazing job! They were quick to respond to any inquiries or questions we had. Kinsey was extremely accommodating and I felt in safe hands with her. I would highly recommend separk for brides who want to have a beautiful wedding day!

Recently engaged, me and my fiancé are in the venue hunting phase. Separk Mansion was our first stop and the pictures do it no justice. The day we were to see the venue, I had 3 venues lined up that day and 2 rescheduled on me at the last minute, which left a bad taste in my mouth but Separk was the one who kept our appointment. Emily & Kinsey were our tour guides and they talk to you in detail about each part of the mansion and what purpose it serves. They explain how everything will go and they did not have us waiting for them to finish up with another client. The all inclusive price is also a lovely addition! Weddings aren't cheap and Separk gives you the best bang for your buck, without the place being tacky. Even their email turnaround time is awesome!! They've created 2 proposals for me in 2 days, and I never had to wait a crazy amount of time for a response. This place will have people thinking you've spent $70k on a venue, when you didn't even spend $20,000. We have toured other venues, and we still have one more to see before we make a final decision but Separk is in the lead!!

Separk Mansion is the best wedding venue in the Charlotte area. The house is amazing and the grounds are spectacular. The food and drink service is great. Brittany and Kinsey are excellent wedding planners and the owners Tim and Shannon are incredibly gracious.

We loved working with Tim and Shannon. They have turned this venue into something special. I loved the bridal & grooms suites. I felt like a very special bride. The main staircase is amazing and great for pictures. The raised area in the garden was perfect for the ceremony. We had less than 100 guests. This venue will hold a lot more but it was a great size even for a small wedding.

Absolutely elegant venue close to Charlotte. Stunning 'Gatsby' interiors with beautiful gardens and owners/staff who really care about a top-notch wedding day experience! As a fellow wedding professional (photographer) I would highly recommend this venue for your wedding or special event.

Please do yourself a favor and select a different venue. I was a bridesmaid in a wedding at Separk last weekend, and the level of disorganization caused an unbelievable amount of stress to both the bride and the wedding party. During our rehearsal on Friday, we had to practically beg Meredith to actually walk through the rehearsal and not just have her tell us our order and when to go. We arrived at the venue at 8:15am and were not greeted by Meredith until 4:00pm (the wedding began at 4:30). We had to specifically request that drinks were brought out to the wedding party since we had to miss cocktail hour due to pictures, and Meredith made it seem like every request was a complete inconvenience (I don't think I ever even saw her smile if I'm being honest). Mind you this is after the bride already had to specifically email Meredith after a pre-wedding venue meeting months beforehand telling her how disappointed she was in the level of customer service offered, and she was assured things were going to be better. The head table was set up incorrectly, so the bridal party had to spend time rearranging chairs and place settings before we could have dinner. Despite our frustration with Meredith, the other staff that we interacted with were very sweet and tried to be as helpful as possible (a lot of which they needed Meredith for, so they weren't actually able to be that helpful, but you can tell they were trying). The bride's contract specifically states that she isn't allowed to leave a negative review (which makes me very suspicious of their almost-5 star rating) and I want any brides considering this venue to have the full picture before they spend that kind of money! The venue is absolutely beautiful, but until they do something about their staff, I would never even consider recommending someone to Separk Mansion.
