I got food poisoning here when I was seven months pregnant. The teriyaki chicken was undercooked and caused me to get terribly sick. I used to love going here because it is inexpensive for what you get.

I used to love going here. It is inexpensive and you get a lot of food for what you pay. I used to love getting the teriyaki chicken with rice and vegetables until I got food poisoning while I was 7 months pregnant. The chicken was undercooked and caused me to get terribly sick. I refuse to go back after having that experience. I wish it never happened because Sakura used to always have my business!

My wife and I got there at 5:15 Friday pm. Third couple to be sat down. Ordered within 10 mins. 2 sushi rolls and a order of Crab Rangoon. An hour and ten minutes later, the rolls and Rangoon come out. Food was good. But not worth the wait. No communication from staff the entire time we were waiting to explain why the wait was so long, or anything. And they don't serve alcohol! If you are going to make someone wait that long, the least you could do is keep them happy with some alcohol while they wait. And there's a Mexican restaurant next door that does, so I know it's not due to their location. The napkin holders said they had all kinds of beer and wine, so those were evidently bought off of ebay or taken from a previous restaurant that did serve alcohol and they were too lazy too remove them before putting them out. Not very special of an atmosphere either and the service was non existent. Definitely need to step up their game and they could be a lot better. Don't let complacency sit in.

Maybe you have to eat in to get good food here. I ordered the steak and shrimp today for dinner from this place for two reasons. The Chinese restaurant a few doors away wanted me to call in my order even though I was right there. The other Japanese restaurants weren't nearby and I didn't want to drive further. I was extremely disappointed with my dinner. The rice was flavorless even for plain fried rice. My biggest issue was my steak which I ordered MEDIUM. How did it come? WELL DONE. That's not one but two temperatures past my preference. You know why? Eating well done steak is like chewing leather or those chew treats from the pet store. There's just no excuse for serving that to a paying customer. If I overcook my steak at home, then it's my bad. But you just charged me $15ish for a meal I can't enjoy. Lesson learned. Drive further next time I want Japanese food or just call in the dang order at the Chinese place.

I like it here. I first came here when staying at my dad's house in Hendersonville because it was the first place open with sushi nearby. I needed by morning sushi fix lol. The first time I came I fell in love with the way they seasoned their sushi rice. The rice was thick and s generous amount around the roll. So on my day off today I drove 35 minutes back to Hendersonville just for more of this sushi!Today the sushi was different. It wasn't bad, but it didn't knock my socks off. It was not the same seasoning and there was less of it. It may have been a different sushi chef. I will return if I am back in town, but I don't think I'd drive out of my way again for another sushi trip. Not a bad place.

Let me start off by saying the sushi I ordered tasted awesome. Fresh. Clean. But very tiny. If you can imagine I ordered two Philadelphia Rolls and when they arrived they were as big around as my middle finger. I'm not kidding... It looked like a snake cut into segments. Not worth the $15 I spent at all. In addition to everything, I placed my order around 12:05 and had to get up twice if we were going to be served, because I needed to be back to work by 1:00. We were finally served our food at 12:43.Lastly, I placed a to go order at the same time I ordered my sushi, when we went to pay, that meal wasn't even ready. Long story short, I was 15 minutes late getting back from lunch. Save your money, go eat someplace else.

The last three times I have been.....#1 - Walked in about 20 minutes before closing. Door was open and "Open" sign was on. I was denied service and told they were closed. #2 - Walked in about 45 minutes before closing. Was told they close in a few. Made us feel really uncomfortable by coming in close to closing. #3 - Walked in about 2 hours before closing. After 50 minutes, still had not received food. Went to cancel the order because my wife had to get to work, and it magically came out. This place doesn't have it together. Doubt we will go back. What a shame...

Food is very inconsistent. One day the food will be great then the next time we go it taste terrible, bland, rice over cooked, streak tough.

When I first walked in the door I was immediately greeted and seated which really made my day. I haven't been able to get out of bed today. The service was quick. I sat down and took a look at a couple books and bam my food is there in no time. They give a big portion of rice and shrimp which make the price worth it. Shrimp Tempura was hot when I got and I near burned my mouth on the grease. I love it when my food is served hot. There really isn't much to add to the dining experience. I almost feel like the choice of shrimp and rice is infinitely good here at least for me so I really enjoyed and you should check it out. Even batter all around, great taste, not just another salty fish experience. I hate broccoli but the Shrimp and white sauce they give you makes it fall down your throat.Overall a good Ol Hendersonville dining experience!

The hibachi steak is really good and its consistently good. Price is good especially considering inflation. This is my go to lunch several times a week.
