Oh my god this place is one of the best places I've been in a while.I went during restaurant week so can't speak about prices but it's definitely on the higher end of date nights.Miso soup was okThe saku fríes are OUT OF THIS WORLD. Incredible. The crudo was also pretty goodThe skewers were perfectly madeThe sunset horizon roll was incredible. Fresh. Almost citrusy The cocktails were also incredible!Incredible all around!

Ambience is amazing looks extremely pretty in there. Service was great, it was my girlfriend's birthday when we went so our waitress made sure we felt very welcome and satisfied. Dinner was pretty good, not the best sushi and definitely very overpriced.

The atmosphere was so lovely- all of the decor was cherry blossom themed hence the name "saku". Our server Kelly was fantastic and provided great recommendations. Everything was so tasty! Sometimes vegetarian sushi can be bland, but this roll was packed with flavor & texture variation. The matcha-tini was a highlight as well since my friend and I are both matcha lovers!!

Great place for Yakitori! We started off with edamame the house salad and miso soup! We really liked the soup. We had chicken and ribeye yakitori and the chicken was fantastic, the ribeye came with a spicy sauce that my wife enjoyed! We will be back to try the sushi next time. Service was very good.

We came here for restaurant week and had an outstanding experience! The staff was super friendly, and had great suggestions. We got a couple cocktails including a spicy one called dragons breath that was unique and delicious. Then we got to sample several of their restaurant week offerings. The stand outs for me were the crudo, scallop skewers, the sunset horizon sushi roll, and the French fries were also surprisingly good for a sushi place. Definitely recommend this place if you're downtown!

Where to start?!?!? The food...check. The service...check. The ambiance...check. We visited Saku during the Queen's Feast Restaurant Week and enjoyed the multi-course meal. Everything was perfection!

It's really nice that there are so many sushi spots in Charlotte because you can really find the one that meet your needs. Unfortunately, this spot was very disappointing. The seating is very tight. The tables are maybe an arm's length apart, so you are really in other tables's conversations. When it's busy, it really kills the vibe. The tables are also very small so if you have 2+ people, you really don't have a lot of place for your food. I had to just stack the empty plates on the table until a server finally came to grab them. The food was subpar. Frankly, I thought it was a bit pricey for how ordinary it was. And the service was pretty awful compared to a lot of the other places we've been locally. It was definitely a disappointing experience so I highly doubt we would venture back. There are better options in the area for sure.

If you are looking to have a cool night out, and enjoy a good sushi roll, then you gotta check out Saku. Located in the newish tower that was build next to Connolly's on 5th, this place has a very immersive atmosphere that takes you out of Charlotte and into downtown Tokyo! The ambiance is laid back and upscale with beautiful decor. I went on a weeknight after work and we were delighted to find that the rolls were half off for happy hour. Gotta love a good bargain! They had a respectable tap list and a beautiful well stocked bar. I will say that although sushi isn't necessarily my go to cuisine, it is fun to switch things up. This would make a great place for a special night out with friends, and afterwards if you are looking to switch up the vibe, you can simply hop on the elevator and head to one of the other three establishments in the building. Great location, great sushi, great vibes.

We were looking for a nice place to eat dinner for NYE, and I was very excited to find Saku! Definitely my kind of place. Here's the down-low:- Atmosphere: Hip, upscale, and cool vibe. Downstairs is quiet and chic. Upstairs is energetic with beautiful cherry blossom motif and vibey music.- Drinks: Had a variety of drinks and very creative ones too. I got the Koi Pond which was delicious and apparently the most popular.- Food: No complaints at all! Had the calamari, which came with a delicious sauce + 2 sushi rolls - a classic tempura shrimp and the TLC. Definitely had some creative rolls on the menu that I appreciated! Wished there was a signature roll with tempura included.- Service: Bartenders were very friendly and cool. Service time was pretty good too, especially given the packed house for NYE. - Price: Reasonable for the area!I would definitely recommend and return! Also, there are 3 bars/lounges on the floors above Saku. We ended up spending the entire NYE night between Dahlia's on floor 4 and the rooftop bar at Novelty House on floor 5. Had a really great time all around!

Ok so I came here on a Saturday for a birthday dinner with a few friends. This place was packed! The bar was full and all tables were taken so a reservation is the way to go. My entire table seemed to really enjoy their sushi and the street corn. I would skip the "fried rice". It wasn't worth it in my opinion. It lacked flavor and was just extremely basic. I tried the chicken skins and I mean it tasted just like how I expected so if chicken skins are your thing, go for it but I don't see a need to order again. The decor was cute, nice chairs and tables, flowers hanging from above, the typical IG aesthetics honestly. Parking is next door, it was $15 or you can try to find street parking but it was difficult on a cold Saturday night. Overall. I enjoyed my time out. I am not a huge sushi fan so I am not sure this would be a frequent occurrence for me.
