This Rushco isn't the big fancy Amoco station out by the lake at BSR and Stutts, it's the BP station nearer to the credit-challenged part of town where Brawley runs into Route 21 and becomes Wilson Avenue near the golf course...Inside is the usual assortment of the usual things in the usual manner with plenty of room to put in a couple tables to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee and some fresh baked goods or sammiches if they ever decide to upgrade the place. This is a smaller store but it still works and the price is right so I continue to stop in to fill up when I'm in the area. Easy in from Brawley School or Charlotte Hwy and the traffic light makes getting back out a pretty straightforward task. BTW: The speed limit is 45 MPH on either road so pull out like you mean it on green.Outside there are six islands with two pumps on each so plenty of opportunities to fill your tank(s) with a minimum of waiting. Off to the side is a car washer that seem to do an acceptable job of removing the filth and shining up your car's finish and a vacuum for the mess inside.

Easy in and out off of Hwy 21 in Mooresville, Rushco is a locally owned Gas Station chain (based out of Salisbury) that has a dozen or so locations. They have a weird policy of coming over the intercom at the pump saying "welcome to Rushco." While you may be thinking 'Hey that's great, there greeting customers,' it probably would be great if the people doing it spoke with any positive tone. It normally comes off as someone who is being forced to do it.Speaking of being forced to say or do something. One of the few times I've been inside I grabbed a drink and paid inside for gas. The attendant, an older man who looked like he had never smiled in his life asked me if I wanted a car wash. I was driving a truck and trailer and jokingly said 'I'm not sure if that will fit in the wash' and he repeated in the same monotone 'Car wash, yes or no?' Pretty off-putting.A very clean store, nice and organized. The lady I'm assuming is the manager seems pretty nice too. I understand that it's hard to get people that want to do a good job at a convenient store, but the service I got was off-par and discourages me to return. I hope management makes an effort in training staff better on customer service, or looks into incentives for staff to want to do a good job! Would be a great store if they could nail service!

Brawley School Road Location... Husband and I stopped in for ice cream cones. 2nd time in and I had to leave a review because Tina T working the counter is one of the most friendly, customer service oriented indIviduals I've ever met. She smiled and spoke the entire time, provided great suggestions and even called us by name. A+ for Tina T and whoever hired her.

Whenever I go into this location, which is quite often, there is a man working behind the counter. This is the reason I am writing this review at this very moment. I just went in to find him lying on the counter looking at me with this "can't be bothered" face. He never smiles. Never asks what he can help you with. Never welcomes you. Never even says the total. Never says you're welcome. Never says have a good day. He says nothing! Many times he is on his phone. He is a bit of a d*** and I will no longer come to this location while he works there. Someone this miserable shouldn't be working with the public.

The last two times I have stopped to purchase fuel the pump didn't work. This last time, I swiped my card, entered my zip, no to car wash, and yes to a receipt, pulled the nozzle and selected the grade, Nothing!Cancelled the purchase and tried again and same thing. Pushed the call button several times nothing. All the other pumps were in use so I went inside and asked the attendant about the pump not working. He said it works but you have to jiggle the flap where the nozzle sits on the pump. Really! I asked him about the call button, Oh that doesn't work. Really!Rushco needs to fix their equipment or mark it out of order. I don't have time for this crap every time I need gas in my car. Too bad, convenient for me but I'll plan to fill up elsewhere from now on!
