RuRu's Tacos + Tequila

At 7:00 on a Friday night, the wait was only 20 minutes which was actually only about 10 minutes. It gave us just enough time to grab a drink at the bar. The margaritas were really tasty but next time I'll ask for salt on the rim. I assumed it would come standard and nobody asked. We started with the dip trio. 5 of us shared it and still had lots of salsa leftover. The portion was worth the money. The tacos are wildly over priced in my opinion. $5.99 for one normal size taco and no side is a little steep. I settled on the waiter's recommendation - the Reuben Feffer bowl and was not disappointed! The bowl included flavorful and tender skirt steak with lettuce, rice, black beans, cheese, pico de gallo, lime crema and pickled onions. It was good and really filling. Overall, cute place to dine with friends or go for a date night. Just expect to spend some $$$.

I visited Ruru's for the first time. The staff was kind and friendly and parking was good. The food came out incredibly fast-within 5 mins of ordering! I didn't know what to expect with the food coming out so fast but it was hot, well seasoned, and fresh. I felt like the bowl was missing something-maybe a salsa or chips to tie it together. It was filling and I'd be willing to try other things in the future.The ambiance was gorgeous and versatile-could easily be a date night, night out with friends, or enjoy the amazing patio.

Ruru's has been a staple in my Charlotte experience. Being a Charlotte native, this is a place that I continuously recommend to people and often visit. I've had birthday dinners here, Saturday brunches with friends & even random midday lunches. My family comes here a lot, and we are all disappointed in the new experience. They have decided to change so much of the menu, and the changes are for the worst. The chicken is now beyond disgusting, the guacamole has become abysmal and I am completely not a fan. I am honestly scared to even try anything else, and I will not be returning. I find it crazy that the menu has been changed, when it has been working for years. I am disappointed and honestly saddened that one of my favorite restaurants has now become somewhere I no longer will visit.

Have always enjoyed this restaurant for its fun outdoor setting, pleasant and helpful service, and good vegetarian options. But I guess I haven't been here in a while ~ there is now just one option for a vegetarian taco. Still appreciate this place, but a bit disappointed.

I have been coming to Ruru's for yearsssss it's one of my favorite spots. I came in today to get some lunch i ordered my usual quesadilla and it was awful! Turns out the receipts have been changed and I am NOT a fan. Why change something that was working well? The menu has been changed and I am absolutely unhappy and unsure if i will be back. CHANGE EVERYTHING BACK PLEASE

Ruru's is a good Mexican spot in CLT. Plenty of options on the menu with funny names from movies. They have multiple dining rooms and a large outdoor patio with a bar. Staff was nice and fun to talk with. The food is good! Love all the different taco options and if you go on Tuesday you can get 3 for $12. Look forward to trying more options at Ruru's!

Pleasantly surprised. I actually had never heard of this place. Love the location, nice low key vibe. Dawn our server was excellent. Very polite and attentive. We went during the 3/$12 tacos. I got the;I'll have what she's having - great!Lookin Good Louis - great!But it's shark week - not so good. A little overwhelming with sauce as well. Dawn did allow us to switch out that last taco for another, thank you Dawn!All in all, very pleased with the experience. Definitely recommend for lunch!!

I've been here a couple of times. Something to consider is that's it's not authentic Mexican, think more TexMex... heavier on the Tex and you won't be disappointed.We had the trio of queso (has fresh jalapeños), mild salsa and guacamole. Chips were warm and fresh which is a plus for me! Note: chips and salsa are not free.We got the ahi tuna salad was which flavourful. The peanut vinaigrette was a plus! We also got veggie fajitas and added steak. It comes with crispy tofu and the steak and tofu both have a cilantro marinade that I thought was a bit too heavy on the cilantro side and not enough spice or flavour. Side dish consists of cilantro rice, queso, salsa and guacamole which was a nice touch. Overall it's an ok place.

One of the loveliest, most quaint patios in Charlotte! The food was great, although I would've preferred a little more seasoning or marination on the tofu. My frozen margarita was delicious (strong but sweet!) although as a note, this restaurant does not offer any straws (so if that's your preference, considering packing your own reusable one). Service was very quick and our main server offered great recommendations!

This place is an absolute vibe during the summer! They don't do reservations but you should 1000% try to get a seat outside on the patio when the weather is nice.Service is super duper fast and very friendly! Hands down has the best margs in Charlotte! Guac is really good too! The tacos are a good portion too (not super tiny). The vegetarian tacos are decent (7/10) in my opinion. Wasn't a fan of the hot sauce though.Lots of free parking around the back too.Would recommend as a good date spot or place to celebrate and get food with friends. I went on a Monday at 7pm and it was pretty busy but didn't have trouble getting seating outside within 5 minutes of getting there
