Great little gem in Morgantown, NC!We opted for outside dinning because the ambiance was so sweet and it was a perfect night for dinning outside. Our waitress Ivy was the best! Suggested of few things on the menu and made sure we didn't want or wait for anything. Top notch and highly recommend asking to sit in her area! My artichoke pizza might truly have been the best pizza I have ever had, and I'm from NY and am Italian! Just the right amount of ingredients and perfect texture. Great pizza, a good bottle of vino, how can you go wrong! Oh but you can, but they didn't. Perfect in every way!

3.5 starsReally nice people. Great patio. The food is a little hit and miss. The pizzas are great. Some other items were less than stellar. The soup the day was ok. Not great, not bad. The oysters and grits small plate was also ok, but I wouldn't get it again. We actually had to send back a plate of seared ahi, which we felt really bad about, since it's something we basically never do. Sadly, it just smelled very strongly fishy (in a bad way) and tasted way past its best-by date. Honestly, we could barely get one bite down. (I suspect this probably reflects more on the supplier than the restaurant.)In any case, the manager definitely made things right -- went above and beyond, to tell the truth -- which we greatly appreciated. We ended up switching it out for a pizza and that was actually really tasty. The tiramisu dessert was also excellent!Again, the staff were all incredibly nice, especially the gal running the front of house.So, if we are ever in town, we'll likely stop here again for pizzas and drinks on the nice patio. Maybe it was an off day, maybe not, but we'd probably just pass on the other options. YMMV

I am going to echo what a number of other folks have said and that is what a long time it took to have someone bring us water and take our drink orders. More than 10 minutes is really not good. We discussed moving to the bar. The hostess was in a boot so IDK if that's part of it. Once we got past the poor start I have no complaints. The grilled romaine salad was so delicious and smoky. The falafel app was also very delicious and we decided to eat pizza for dinner. We had the rossa and the terra. Both were delicious but I would ask for less cheese on the terra. The rossa has this beautiful mixture of sweet and mild heat that is delicious. The beer list is really good too. We had a great date night at Root and Vine watching the sun go down from their little outdoor patio. It was lovely and the price was fairly reasonable.

Super enjoyable experience!We came on a Thurs night around 6PM and were able to get seated right away. They have an extensive selection of beers which was a big plus for this guy. We started out with an appetizer ($12) the server said was a "special"....a hummus with an olive accent along with a seasoned pizza style pita....it was fantastic! My bride ordered the Veralosso Salmon ($30) and I ordered the Mahi ($29). We both really enjoyed our selections and the sides....especially the curry with the Mahi! Each of us thought the our fish was a little overcooked....so that is an area of opportunity - but still thought our meal was fantastic.Our service from Crosby was outstanding! If I owned a restaurant, I would hire ten of her!

Went here for my son's graduation dinner . The new location has a lot more room and the food and service were great .

Very nice Morganton Cafe right on the town square. Very nice stone water feature on the outside patio.

We decided to try this restaurant as we were in Morganton for a Christmas concert.The food was excellent and everyone was pleased with their dish.I had salmon with grilled Brussels sprouts and polenta .Needless to say, I cleaned my plate.We all had appetizers and dessert.The cocktail list was interesting, and the restaurant has a wide range of beers and wines. Ambiance was very modern and beautiful.The waitress was attentive and helpful with food selections.This restaurant is definitely on my to go list!

Food is never a disappointment! Not sure I love the atmosphere of the new location, has a cafeteria vibe being all open and the ceilings painted terracotta colored, the don't disappear as a dark color would. Service was great as well, with the waitress speaking to us rather than at us. ( can't recall her name but it started with a B )

This is not a review I'll on the menu as we left before setting a morsel. The service was, perhaps, the worst I've ever experienced. After sitting for more than forty-five minutes with not even a drink, we left. Only other comment is the room is very noisy and spartan. There are much better alternatives. Never again.

This place should have closed down instead of relocating. I made a graduation reservation 8 weeks in advance. Called back to reconfirm 6 weeks later as they were evicted from their last location... The owner insisted I must have called another restaurant (I know who I called) because they don't take reservations and wouldn't accommodate their hostess's mistake by honoring the one she took.By the way, I called this restaurant three times over the last three weeks to reconfirm the reservation, and they didn't bother to return my any of my calls during their move. This wasted my time and ruined any chances of me finding another venue on such short notice.I hope business dries up for this place... piss poor management and customer service
