Ronnies Ribs

I haven't been to Ronnie's in several years but decided today to get lunch. I ordered the brisket dinner and a 1/2 chicken dinner. The chicken was great. Came with a nice sized 1/2 chicken, roll, Cole slaw, bbq sauce, green beans and rice with hash. My wife asked for the chicken and said it was great. Very good tasting and the sauce is excellent. She's not much of a. green bean fan done the southern way so she gave them to me...and they were great. I liked the Cole slaw (sort of a KFC type). She had a dessert that was some type of an apple baked bread...excellent.I thought my brisket was sort of too well done. It was good, but I was a little disappointed. I've had his ribs and they have been great, but this was my first try at the brisket. I did like the hash/rice. Baked beans were good. Next time I go back I'll try the ribs again or the chicken. Service was fast.

I ordered Rib Dinner, it was nasty; meat was not done all through. It was tender and then tough had to throw the majority of my dinner away. Beans okay, hash and rice watery no favor, Mac/cheese awful bland, and potato salad was very good. This was my first time here, being new in the area and read positive reviews. I know this is a staple in the community, yet it is not for me.The service was professional and pleasant. It is outside, sitting area is available though; so ambiance is nice.

I LOVE barbecue! And this place definitely fulfilled my cravings. It's a cute little shack in Elgin and the lady at the window was so sweet. She was able to answer my questions and make sure my order was right. The only disappointment was they were out of turkey wings. We ordered a brisket dinner with hash and rice and green beans, chicken wings, and half rack of ribs with sauce on the side. Let me just say first, the brisket was so tender and the green beans were perfectly done. My bf said the hash and rice was perfectly made, exactly how it should be. The chicken wings and ribs had the perfect smokey flavor and their homemade BBQ sauce made it all taste better. I was never crazy about SC bbq sauce cuz I don't like mustard but I'm starting to get hooked on it. It was sweet but not too sweet and the perfect amount of tang. I'm so glad I stopped here for dinner.

This unpretentious shack, which offers only outdoor dining, sits alongside the road in Elgin, a few miles north of interstate 20. And With a google rating of 4.6 on the strength of 243 reviews, and an equally high rating on Yelp, this has been our sleeper in South Carolina for quite some time. The price point is pretty good: $21.48 purchased a quart of hash, and a rib sampler. The single rib was huge and meaty (membrane on), with a light and pleasant rub that allowed the flavor of the meat to shine. This is a really good rib. The mound of chopped pork that accompanied the rib was beautifully sauced ... but the hash is superb ... so much so that my original order of a pint turned into a quart! You should give this one a try.

Ronny and Ryan and their staff have incredible ribs and their bbq is awesome! Cannot recommend them with enough enthusiasm!!

It makes absolutely no sense how good this food was. And AFFORDABLE!! Rib dinner plate is 9.99 on Fridays and Saturdays and it took me all day Saturday to finish all of this. 3.5 juicy, meaty, ribs. Coleslaw, hash and rice, baked beans, and a slice of bread. For another $1.00 throw in a can soda to wash this down. The hash and rice had a distinct taste to it. A little vinegar-Ry, a little heat, but something about it made me kept eating it, Lolol! Ribs were tender and juicy. The meat melted in your mouth. Even included an additional cup of sauce. I didn't eat the coleslaw, was just too full to try it. It's a take out type of spot and there is a small patio area off yo the side. Or a park area nearby if you want to pig out in peace. Friendly staff. Very professional. Ribs are worth it!

Fantastic doesn't even begin to describe the food here! There's almost always a small line which goes to show how popular they are!

Best smoked chicken I've ever had, full of flavor & love in every bite! The vinegar based sauce on the side complimented the chicken very well. The smoked Mac and cheese was also delicious. Can't wait to come back and try more of their amazing menu

Ribs were very tough and no flavor. Slaw was not good, Green beans were cold had to buy big ol pint sides and they sucked so bad I took one bite out of each side !i already thought it was overpriced but was also not good

The ribs tasted OK but over the years they had a new way of cooking them instead of the grill. They have some type of smoker. Taste is not the same as before. I understand they use that to save time, but I like them better off the grille.
