Still serving the best seafood in the area for over 47 years!
This is what we call a "Tailgate" Whole Flounder. Why? Because we've been told it is the size of a tailgate on a small pick-up truck.
Seafood Platter with salt and pepper shrimp and fish, deviled crab, scallops and baked potato. Omit the oysters.
Birthday boy's Bubba sized flounder plate with fries. He was happy :-)

Decent Fish Camp. Reminds you of the old fish camps you grew up having in the south. Service was pleasant and they took care of their customers. Not a long wait to get food. Tried the combo plate with S&P Catfish fillets and chicken tenders. Both were tasty but nothing over the top. Some of the prices were a little higher than I would suggest, but overall a nice experience. Bottom line, if you are looking for a no thrills but simple down to earth fish camp and you are in the area, then I would suggest trying this place out.

We met our sons family and his in-laws here Saturday night for supper. Its a good 50-60 min drive so I had to rack my brain on what I was going to get.In the door Rocky River Springs Fish House is as old school as a fish house comes.A sweet lady selling cakes breads and some other home made treats that a hungry person should not see before you even get to your table. As our waitress got our drink order she came back with some delicious Hushpuppies. One of our party had flounder and scallops combo. You could chose from two way to four way combinations. Our son chose the four way and he and his wife split it up.There was enough food on that plate that both they and their two twins eat off it.Their combo had flounder, shrimp, chicken tenders, fries.I chose Salt and pepper Flounder. They Have a very good tarter sauce to go along with this good food.I had a large my wife had a small and the tab was 24$and some change. Our sons four way combo and two drinks where 26$ and some change.Something I really liked was some of had tea or water. The waitress put both tea and water pitcher's on the table,And she never never let us run out.One of our party ordered Onion Rings,Was not a big fan.If they made them their self I'm sorry. If they buy them and there some good choices out there. Our experience was a good one.The service was good, food was good, company was good. Can't complain. We will meet and eat here again.

Rocky River Springs is not a restaurant you are going to just happen by, unless you are lost in the countryside of Oakboro/Aquadale area. We went to a 50th birthday dinner here at the request of the birthday boy and they do have multiple rooms great for party groups. Our waitress Sara was awesome! The guests arrived well ahead of the birthday boy and were greeted with neverending DELICIOUS hushpuppies and beverages of.choice. Sweet tea is southern sweet, don't even try it if have sugar level issues!I ordered a combo platter with mini fried shrimp and deviled crab. The waitress told me the crab was more on the stuffing side which is the way I prefer it! The shrimp were good, but not the best I've ever had. I paid $1 more for onion rings. Yeah, that was not worth it...the batter was not tasty, they were a little too done and just...not good. Not RodO lonely onion ring list worthy for sure. Stick to fries or potato in my opinion. For $13.25 it was a BIG portion! My hubby got the Seafood Platter, no oysters with salt and pepper shrimp and fish and fried scallaops. I tasted everything but the scallops, and again it was tasty but not sure if it was the best I have ever eaten. The clientele was good ol' folks who.have been eating here for years if I had to guess and there was a mini farmer's market out the front door with fruit, veggies and canned items. All of the wait staff was great and the location was out of the way and dated, but very accommodating to groups (we had 16 folks and plenty of room). If you are in the mood for a good ol' fish camp - here ya go!

Most friendliest service around. Food is okay, although my daughter raves about her flounder...even though it was overcooked. I'll always go back since we live right down the road and you honestly can't beat the welcoming customer service.

My family has been going to Rocky River Fish House for over 40 years. I have never eaten fish anywhere else as good as it is at Rocky River. They have other selections too but I want fish when I go. The staff is always friendly with good service. My daughter always wants to go eat there to celebrate her birthday but who needs an excuse to go there. One of our favorite places to eat!

Rocky River Springs is like stepping back in time to the old fish camps. Where the whole family went for a great meal. From the sweet tea , dill in their tarter sauce to the fried flounder. We will be back with more of the family.
