I ate at ROCK TACO in Rock Hill with friends for dinner. Great atmosphere, friendly and "on point" customer service. Quality and presentation of the food is tasty and freshly made. Their side Rice and Queso was very good. Our lovely n beautiful waitress named, Katie was very kind, courteous, friendly, and recommended us good choices off the menu, and very at tentative to our needs and requests. The staff even offered us a free sample shot of Tequila which complimented my tacos that i ordered: Taco (1): Hard Rockin White FishTaco (2): Big Shrimpin Al PastorTaco (3): Luna Tuna TacofishSide of lightly seasoned rice.Appetizers: Yo Queso. One thing i do need to try is there delicious Shrimp N Grits on my next visit: rock taco.com and be sure to Follow them on Facebook and Instagram .They also cater to live bands that they some times feature on Friday nights. *Musician Matt Walsh will be appearing there around 7pm for his 1 year anniversary, very cool .In all,I felt nothing but good vibes; has a nice tex-mex-California feel, and the bar area is very cozy and inviting, with lots of TVs and Artistic art posters, neon lights, and celebrity paintings, and sketches of familiar musicians, very nice, and ideal for family, great spot for first dates, and/ or to just bring your best buddies/gals and just have a great time. Very clean, and Social, thank you for the pleasant experience ROCK TACO.I give you 7.5 s out of 10. For Rock Hill area, it's very good street style tacos, you wont be disappointed .

Impressive selection of Tex-Mex in Rock Hill.My first time in for lunch on a Tuesday and I decided to go with their tacos.I had the Shrimp Al Pastor, Barbacoa and Carnitas all on flour tortilla. Each is topped with something different which gives in a unique spin. The Barbacoa with crispy onions and poblano cream was excellent. The Carnitas with tequila pickled onions, fried green tomato & salsa cotija. The Shrimp were marinated with Al pastor sauce, topped with pineapple serrano, pic o& cilantro. You won't get that at Taco Bell!I was really impressed with the Staff, the vibe and the dinning room. The main entrance fronts Main St but there is more than adequate parking in the rear where there is an entrance and during good weather a nice patio as well. The have quite a selection of top shelf Tequilas as you might imagine and a wide selection of domestic and imported Cerveza's.I'll def be returning to check out some of the interesting menu options.A great independetly owned and operated option in 'downtown' Rock Hill!

We were in downtown Rock Hill and wanted a quick but good meal. So we went down to Rock Taco and sat outside with our pup with one of tables out front and they were clean. Had some yummy margaritas and chips and dip. Then we both got some tacos of course. Our waitress was great at giving recommendations. We will be back for sure!!!

They have unique plates. We've had various tacos. The dirty bird is one of our favorites and I love their salad. We normally dine during happy hour. Their margaritas are tasty! We've always had great service.

We checked out this spanking, new restaurant in Downtown Rock Hill for lunch... The place had an impressive, lofty space with high ceilings (2 floors?), with a striking decor, a mix of "Day of the Dead" skull and rock star-rock music motif...complete with an eclectic mix of rock music. The booth seatings were very comfy as well. The ambiance was great...but, I didn't like that the place had more of this sports bar vibe, with its numerous TV screens, featuring sports. I also thought these TV screens (think 9 total??) somewhat ruined the awesome Mexi-Rock decor. Still, if you're a sports fan (which I'm not!), you'll probably love it. I guess ultimately, it had this super-busy Mexi-Rock-Sports decor. In my book, kind of a shame. If it didn't have so many sports TV's, I probably would have loved it...but I just ended up kind of liking it.Now, the menu! Very interesting...in that it had this mix of Mexican (tacos, nachos, etc.etc.) favorites, as well as a few fancy Mexi specialties, as well as some Southern American specialties, like Fried Chicken and Fish 'n Grits. Think they even had Po-Boy? So basically, they had this Mexi-American fusion menu. One weird thing. They didn't automatically bring you salsa...you had to ask for it. Not sure if there was a charge for it? Luckily, the Manager (?) was nice enough stop by the table, and that's when we asked for this Salsa...halfway through our meal. This lack of Nachos and Salsa right off the bat told me right away that this was fusion...not full-on Mexican. If you prefer authentic Mexican, you may not like this. However, I didn't mind it at all...if anything, welcomed this fun fusion mix! They had an interesting variety of tacos, so I went that route. I chose this "Rock & Rolla Coca - Cola Barbacoa" taco, and also this "Big - Shrimpin' Al Pastor" taco...and both were really good. I preferred the "Rock & Rolla" taco...with a substantial amount of braised beef, surprisingly so! I also Poblano Rice, which was good as well. Plus, we shared this delicious Main St. Corn Dip (think that's what it was?)...added this to the tacos instead of nachos (SO good)! The presentation of the foods were good, but placed in these casual tin trays (the same ones used at places like Seoul Meat Co). I always thought that kind of cheapened the look of the foods...but that's just me. Still, the foods were solid.Service by the waiter was good too...fast and friendly! Overall, we really enjoyed our lunch here...and thought the place was a great, new addition to Rock Hill. I even thought these were the best tacos I've had in Rock Hill...and looking forward to trying more items from their fun menu. I know it's just a personal, subjective thing...but I'm not a fan of such masculine sports bar vibe, so that's where it lost a star for me.

Most of the food was very good and service was very attentive. Our group of friends was here a year ago and were't that satisfied, this time the experience was noticeably better. Queso, corn dip, salsa and chips were all great. The jam session ensalata and dirty bird were delicious. The only critique from the crowd was that the pork belly taco wasn't what folks were expecting as it was shredded and a little dry to them.

Went for the hubby's bday dinner. Absolutely love the vibe they are giving. Greeted as soon as we walked through the door. Sat in a booth as soon as we told them the party number. Severe was at our table not even a minute later to introduce herself and take our drink orders. Service was great. From the person who welcomed us in, our server who was quick, attentive and friendly to the food runners and the rest of the staff. I've heard and read some very mixed reviews about Rock Taco but I am here to tell you, they were having an amazing day because the food was on point. Everything we ordered was flavorful. Nothing was over powering and nothing was lacking. Honestly, one of the best queso dips I have ever had. Salsa was good but even better when I mixed it with the queso. Hubby had the pork belly carnitas and Funky Fresh Fish N' Grits. He loved every bite. Of course, I had to get a bite. Grits are made to perfection. Not thick and lumpy, not runny and watery. Perfect. Baby girl had the Dirty Bird and the chicken was cooked just right and the flavor was explosive. Main St. Corn Dip-I added some hot cause and so good. No ingredient over powered the other. Yall don't sleep on this local gem.

Another nice looking restaurant with sub par Mexican food. Came into the place and was greeted and seated right away, the server came over and when asked what he would recommend, he proceeded to name just about everything on the menu. We ordered drinks, a strawberry margarita and a Paloma, both drinks pretty good but the margarita was very very sweet. Next came the appetizer, we ordered the empeñada, which tasted ok but outside was a little dry and not crunchy and the inside was taken over by cheese. Next the entre, I ordered the pork belly nachos and my wife ordered 2 of the tacos, chorizo and carnitas. First the tacos, both were stuffed to the max which is normally a good thing, however they left so much to be desired, they were boring and lacking any Mexican flavor. The nachos were on the other end of the flavor pool, there was not one distinct flavor because there were so many. In a dish that should let the pork do the heavy lifting, you are bombarded by a flavored sour cream and a flavored onion along with a house cheese that solidified in the middle making it impossible to eat. It's like they used tangy flavors in place of spice and it does not work. The best tasting item at this taco place was the fried chicken my son had, no joke it was very good. Can't say we will be back here but I never want to go out after one visit.

We tried Rock Taco for lunch today. This is a great place. The theming inside is really cool, a mixture of rock, day of the dead and Star Wars. There was something interesting to see everywhere you looked. We were greeted warmly and sat quickly. Our waitress, Ally, was very nice and made an excellent suggestion on the salsa for the chips and salsa we got before our meals. She also answered our questions about the size of the tacos and the different types of tortillas used. She knows her stuff!I had the tuna taco and shrimp taco on corn tortillas (which they double up as corn has a tendency to sometimes break). The tuna taco was good, it had a blacked seasoning on it that I may have dialed back a bit but that would be my only critique. The shrimp was amazing! My husband had the barbaco and chorizo (also on corn) and he definitely enjoyed them. He used the chips we had to scoop up what was left on his plate!I'd definitely want to come back for an evening meal to see this place at night and it's also juuuust close enough where we can do take-out. If you are in the mood for tacos and Rock Taco was on your list of places to try, do it!

Had the "Fish and Grits" plate last night. The best restaurant meal I have had in a long time! Please, never take that one off your menu... I will be returning often to order it!
