We had our daughters wedding here and the food and ambience were exemplary. We had some minor breakage of our alcohol and one of the owners was a little aggressive about Twisted tea, lol but we could not have had a more beautiful day.

We hosted our wedding with Riverwood Manor last March as a destination wedding in NC. Despite several issues I had with various aspects of the planning and execution, miraculously it turned out pretty good. However the reason for my rating is:1. No rehearsal despite the contract we signed said that we could. Here is an excerpt from the contract in my file "A one-hour rehearsal slot (On-site Wedding Ceremonies Only) generally Monday-Thursday, late afternoon or early evenings during the week prior to your event". The host and owner Angela told me verbally they do not do rehearsals even though I had a legally binding contract. She told me that it's not needed because the venue will direct everyone. The actual directing was a 5 minute huddle with myself the groom, groomsmen, and bridesmaids right at the doors to the back of the venue where the ceremony was to take place.2. The itemized pricing sheet for the center pieces and food changed at the time we got the quote with inflation up to 40%.3. Our place settings included a knife and spoon. There were no forks and there was no effort to get us a set. My mother in-law made it all work out thankfully.4. We hired an awesome DJ and ordered a complete effects display for our venue. This included up lighting and dancing on the cloud for our final dance. When our DJ attempted to setup the smoke machine which uses dry ice he was told by Angela in a passive aggressive tone that he was not allowed to or he would be asked to leave. At the end of my wedding I asked her about it and she said it would trigger the smoke detectors. This is not true if you do your research people. I lost $500 and an effect that was going to create the perfect scene for our bride and groom dance.I had to dig deep to give 2 stars because the above really upset me and my wife. Everything appeared flawless to our guests and they were very happy. This was due in part to my mother in-law and family who helped to create our experience. Our pictures were beautiful because the venue itself is pretty. However I just can't recommend or would want to see anyone go through what we did for their special day.

I attended this wedding for a couple that I have known for many years and care deeply for. They were like family to my family. My daughter was IN the wedding. She warned us about "Karen" that exuded misery at the pre-wedding / rehearsal events. That didn't quite prepare us for the experience we were about to have. We were being responsible by carpooling to the event. We arranged two designated drivers and two separate cars to take us to the wedding. We thought there was a possibility of a sizable crowd and thought it would reduce the number of cars taking up space in the lot. I arrived in the first car very early. I stood beside my car awaiting the rest of us to arrive any minute. A man with a Napoleon Complex quickly tore into us for NO reason. He accused us of "tailgating". The rest of my party arrived during his diatribe. He threatened to remove us from the property if he caught us returning to our cars. He continued his aggression until we walked down to the venue area. Totally unwarranted and 100% classless! The inside venue space was pretty. The table setting(stemware, flatware, napkins, tablecloth)was pretty. We walked outside to white folding chairs overlooking a community fishing pond. They had an arbor set up with white netting and two floral arrangements tacked to it. The walking paths from the venue building and the area among the wedding space was made of driveway gravel. This was fun for the ladies in heels to walk in. The ceremony was beautiful. The bride was breathtakingly gorgeous. Their vows were tear-inducing. After the exchange of vows we all headed to the inside space for cocktail hour. There was NO liquor, therefore, it was actually beer and wine hour. It didn't take long for all of the wines to run out except for a super sweet Moscato that wasn't really good. Before the dances and speeches began the buzz inside was that someone in the grooms family was getting booted from the venue. I could see him outside receiving the wrath of the venue's gestapo. He was in disbelief that he had to leave the event. I walked outside after he had gone and the three guys with an earpiece were gleefully discussing their accomplishment. The buffet line went quickly. There was only one meat- chicken with something sprinkled on it. They had two starchy sides- mac and cheese and mashed potatoes. They also had a bowl of iceburg lettuce with cucumbers in it and a roll. The mac and cheese was actually pretty good. They had a wedding cake and I never got to taste it. The speeches and first dances were beautiful. The DeeJay did a great job. The music selections were varied to appeal to the wide range of ages and tastes of the wedding attendees. The garter throw and the bouquet toss were memorable. It was awesome to see the love and respect amongst the guests. I had to step outside for a few minutes to get away from the loud music. Guess what? The three guys were outside tossing one of the groomsmen! I found out later that they had also threatened the groom's brother as well. This crowd was so well-behaved. I hate that thing I will most remember from this wedding is the three guys with an earpiece. I was personally verbally attacked bu one of these guys for NO reason. These guys need two things, 1) a psychologist to help them with their aggression and anger issues and 2) a new job that doesn't involve interactions with the public.

If I can Leave ZERO stars I wouldThe security was harassing everyone since the start you couldnt even drink in Peace.Matt guy specially was the most rude harassing the wedding guest, he called me Jackass and threatened me to call the police, he also called a DRUNK when I had one drink at the wedding, he got mad because I called him rude and I was waiting for my wife to come out the bathroom. This place has the worst hospitality in TOWN, I lived in Charlotte for 6 years and Ive been to multiple weddings this was by far the worst experience.

I attended a Saturday afternoon wedding at this new facility on Highway 49 (see photos).I had no idea it would be an outdoor wedding until the day before so I was prepared. Many of the heels I saw were buried deep in the pebbles (not cute). They have a small private room in back of the restrooms for dressing. The ceremony took place outdoors facing the fountain on the lake followed by refreshments on the patio area. The reception took place in the hall and it was very comfortable. It is a nice facility for an event. What you need to be aware of: 1. The season. Canker worms were in full force during the ceremony.2. The railroad. Freight trains ran at east twice while I was outside. During the ceremony, however, none were heard.3. The pebbles in the walkway to the outdoor seating area. Remind your guests to dress appropriately.

The most unprofessional owner imaginable. From arguing with guests and the bride and groom, to arguing with reviewers on Google. Do not have your wedding here if you want it to be a positive memory. Matt McIntyre you're a joke. You do not deserve to own this beautiful venue. And I hope your business goes under.

Shut down the bar 2 hours early because "people were getting a little to wild" so I looked around the open room and the only people getting wild were the people on the dance floor with there sick a** dance moves!!!! So of course people got mad not being able to have refreshments! DO NOT SHOW UP WITH A PARTY BUS they will watch you like a hawk all night, one wrong move your done. At the beginning and dinner was great but as soon as the DJ comes on and people start dancing the fun police come out so watch out Great view outside though if that's all your intoThank you

I can't say enough good things about Riverwood and their staff. They did a great job accommodating my wife and families requests. They were professional and delivered in every aspect you could ask for, from vendor recommendations(their suggested people stood above most the others we found), to venue decoration, and day of coordinating was on point. Not to mention how beautiful the property was. Would highly recommend this place to any and all couples or those seeking event space. Side note: the reviews below must of been from real pieces of work, because we experienced the polar opposite of those nut jobs. It was a perfect day.

We honestly could not have picked a better venue or people to work with. Angela and Matt were absolutely incredible and went above and beyond to make our wedding day special. Jenna was an absolute pleasure to work with. Angela listened to our needs and adjusted accordingly - at the last second, I opened up a box of our antique green bottles from our grandparents, and when I realized I forgot to mention them to Angela and wanted to put them back in car, she said nope, and that she would find the perfect place for them...and she sure did! It's stressful working with vendors and hoping everything comes together, but honestly, Angela was a pleasure to work with and she made sure the vendors remained on time. And the food?!? Absolutely amazing! We had someone with Celiac, and she never got sick because the venue made a separate meal for her to cater to our guests. Our guests are STILL raving about the wedding food. I would recommend Riverwood Manor all day. Thank you Angela, Matt, and the staff at Riverwood Manor for making our day one to always remember!
