Richie’s Italian Bistro

The food was spot on, as always! The service was awesome by our server, Poetic. He was so attentive and made sure everything was perfect for us. It was such a pleasure eating here today. We had a large NY style pizza, caprese and Ceasar salad. It's definitely a hidden gem!!

Went there today with my family of five. We ordered two pizzas. There was a large party there but they had just received their food and the other patrons were done eating. So it was us and 3 other people who came in after us. It was later in the afternoon on a Sunday. Service was so slow. For a while I thought there was only one lady working the bar and the whole restaurant (who was working her booty off), but eventually I saw two others. Sp i didnt quit understand what was going on. Anyhow, we eventually got our food. And to be honest, we were not impressed. We ordered the Margherita pizza and a pep and mushroom. The crust and pizza itself was very blandand minimal toppings. I didnt grab any ohotos because inwas too hungry to rememberthat today lol..... Will definitely stick with Empire as our go-to pizza spot.Perhaps other food selections are better. But the food paired with the service and other reviews I've read will still me away in the future.

Finally made it to Richie's Italian Bistro in Riverwalk. The staff, the vibe, and the food was a great experience. My hubby is a New Yorker and really enjoyed the pizza. He didn't critique it like he does the other "fake" pizzas . Very nice establishment with big screens by the bar and karaoke in the corner from 8-12 midnight. Richie's staff gave us excellent customer service. It's a win for us! We will be back with friends.

Delicious Eggplant Parmesan!! Loved the garlic rolls as well. Service was prompt and friendly. Will definitely be back.

I was craving some good NY Style pizza on Tuesday, but they were closed.Closed on Tuesday's, that's odd, so I tried Wednesday night, called to place an order for to-go order, was told 1hr -1 1/2 hrs for take-out. I'll try again tomorrow.On Thursday, I succeeded to place an order with approx. 20 min time. I placed the order for a large 18" cheese pizza, and picked it up in the restaurant. The dining room was about 45-50 % capacity, lots of people eating, the patio was full and the smells were that of an Italian bistro.I had to wait about 5 minutes, but the large screen tv's had my attention till the food was brought out to me.I have added a picture for your please, it was very tasty, but not truly a NY style pizza. I will be back again, to try some other dishes. The Riverwalk area is very difficult for restaurants, I wish them well, and look forward to my next visit.NCFoodGuy

Tried to eat here two different times. Both times we got up and left because we sat there for 15+ minutes without being served. So strange. The food looked good but need to hire better servers!!!

Lasagna was cold and the service was really slow for being only at half capacity in the dining room. Way overpriced for the quality of food, which is mediocre at best.

I don't typically review restaurants based solely on takeout orders. However, for Richie's I'll make an exception. We've ordered multiple items from their menu and have found them all to be delicious. The original-style pizza in particular is a highlight. The crust is properly charred on top and soft in the center, perfectly baked with plenty of hot, gooey cheese and just the right amount of ingredients. Also, while ordering and waiting we've found the service staff to be courteous and helpful That's not to say this still fairly new restaurant doesn't have its growing pains. They're short-staffed at times and the on-line order system has proven "buggy". Overall, though, Richie's has been a great addition to the Riverwalk neighborhood.This is why I was so surprised to see the overall Yelp score for this establishment. How could there be so many low reviews? I read through them and, sadly, have discovered what a few months ago was clearly a choreographed set of single-star pans. I say choreographed because not only were they each written at or near the same time, but also that the same reviews appear in at least one other social media review site. I'm not going to speculate on why these individuals decided to pen such negative reviews. However, I will remind of the impact such a volume can have on a new family-owned establishment. There's a difference between constructive feedback and destructive criticism. I'm hopeful that Richie's has weathered this "troll storm" and continues to grow and improve.I highly recommend Richie's Italian Bistro. Please give it a try!

We recently moved from Charlotte, NC to RH and luckily stumbled upon Richie's. It's is a hidden little gem that's tucked away in Riverwalk - and not visible from the main road. A few things to note about this restaurant - the staff is incredibly personable. The food is authentic. The service will make you want to come back, as you feel you've earned a night out to not cook. Did I mention the food is incredible? We had the pleasure of meeting Richie tonight - great dude that clearly puts his heart and soul into his food. Romaine lettuce is crisp, his homemade pizza sauce hits the pizza crust just right, and the shrimp and scallop arraebiata is to die for. I learned tonight this dish was one his father made to perfection..."so I better get it right"! If you haven't been and love Italian food, do it. It will not disappoint.

Food was delicious! A little slow but worth the wait! Vodka sauce and Italian sausage was really good!
