Horrible food do not go. My wife ordered the penne à la vodka, it really didn't taste like vodka sauce, and it made her stomach upset. I ordered the shrimp tortellini Alfredo, it tasted good at first, but then I found a long black hair in it. Needless to say, I didn't finish the rest of mine. My father-in-law ordered the spaghetti meatballs, and the meatballs were bland. They literally had no seasoning. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Got a grilled chicken salad to go. The chicken is really yummy and tasty, with a good portion, but there were more veggies such as peppers and onions than there were salad.

I have been coming here for many years. Delicious pizza and Italian dishes. Never once have I been disappointed in the food. Fresh, hot bread, amazing house dressing that I have tried to duplicate at home many times with no success. (It's a secret recipe apparently). Probably the best lasagna I have ever eaten. Something about the tomato sauce that makes it soooo good. Excellent pizza and prices cheaper than the dreaded Olive Garden. Don't do chains yall! Service can be spotty at times, but I always leave full, happy, and with leftovers!

The wait staff is not very happy nor do they help each other out at all. Very unfriendly women work here. No one sat us so we waited for someone to say go grab a seat any where. The food over seasoned seafood, forgot the chicken on one dish, salad with no dressing at all. Who ever owns this place should really shut down and restructure themselves. The pizza looks decent but over heard folks near our table complaining about it had no taste at all. Being from NY I love Italian food and this is very far from that. Please hirer more Italians to cook your food. Bring back the family taste and put your passion back into your food!!!! For the love of God. Update so I got about 20 miles away from the place after finishing dinner and I have food poisoning. My fiancé called the restaurant the owner answered and blamed me. WTH kind of business practices is that? It's literally the only thing I have eaten all day. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!! Calling the health board Monday!

Today was our first time eating at this Portofino location and we were very disappointed. We ordered a small pizza for the kids and dinner entrees for us. The pizza came out first with the crust undercooked, my meal came out 10 minutes later and by the time my husbands meal came out, the boys and I were done eating and both the chicken and sauce of his meal were over cooked. Not the family dinner we were expecting and my husband couldn't eat most of his food. When we spoke with the manager he said he had friends visiting and he had been talking with them and that things happen. All he did to make it right was give us $10 off the meal. Will not visit there again.

I will never go back to Portifinos in Gastonia. We both ordered veal & each got a small maybe 4" piece of thin, tough veal. The calamari coating sucked. If you want Portofinos food go to Charlotte, South Park or Arsley.

This had been one of our favorites for years, but lately the service has fallen off since they have been emphasizing take out. My wife and I stood at the hostess area for twenty minutes tonight without being acknowledged by any of the staff. The ones that had to retrieve menus or silverware from the station went out of their way not to make eye contact or talk to us, even when we asked them where the hostess was. Finally, after standing around long enough for other people to come in, order take out and get their food, I went to the waiter station that seemed to attract all the staff, I asked if the were going to seat us or were we going to have to eat somewhere else. The blank look and "ummm..." Reply gave us the answer, and we went to Simonetti's.

Why does it cost $12.76 for a cheese steak sub. It was a little overcook no mayo, and a little pack of Lays potato chips. These days we need better value for our dollars spent! Service is ok. Food ok. Prices not okay they are sky high! Also menu is too large, you can not have excellent quality food with a menu with too many items on it.

Great food and service!!! Tony (the chef) and the whole experience was A+! This was me and my fiancé's first time at this restaurant. We sit outside where in addition to our waitress greeting us, Tony introduced himself, let us know the specials, and offered us a 2 dish entree to split due to the size of the portions. The food was incredible! As we paid our tab and left taking our dessert, Tony again came out to tell us he appreciated our business and looks forward to us coming back. They offer catering as well. The best part was Tony and I saying chow to one another and then him turning to my fiancé (Susan) and uttering something in Italian that I'm sure was have a good evening ma'am - all my fiancé heard was Tony speaking Italian and melting in her seat!!! ! Thanks Tony and Portofino's Gastonia! See you again soon!
