Pfafftown Kitchen

Tried them for the first time last night and really liked it. We had the BBQ plate and BBQ sandwich with fries, BBQ slaw, fried okra, corn on the cob, chips and hushpuppies. The BBQ definitely has it's own distinct flavor from other area BBQ places and that's great, it's nice to have something different available. The BBQ sauce they provided had a nice tangy, vinegary taste. The sandwich came with a buttered and toasted bun, and I've never had that before around here and really enjoyed it; it gave a different texture to the sandwich overall. The hushpuppies had a crispy exterior and were soft on the inside. The chips were fantastic; light and crispy. I thought they were much better than most of the other chips I've tried at various restaurants. They were my favorite side of all the ones we tried. We will definitely be back and hope they get a good fan base to survive. We need a nice little place like this on this side of town for a quick bite and hope they're able to expand their hours and days of operation. And the young men working the evening of 6/17 were very personable and nice; they provided fantastic customer service, and we certainly appreciated it.

They just recently opened up and since then, we've been multiple times. Have really enjoyed trying the menu and we have made it a Saturday stop for the brisket! OMG, few places around here do it right. They nail it! The seasoning of it combined with the smoke... Also, they smoke whole brisket, some of the places around here that I have tried are not even using the right cut of meat. It makes all the difference in the world!They just added smoked chicken to the menu on Fridays. Picked it up last week for dinner. The smoke flavor with the sweet tangy sauce and combination of seasoning on the chicken were fantastic. Loved the potato salad with it's creamy texture and just the right amount of tanginess. Reminds me of my Mom's. The BBQ is a stand out as well. Very good smoke flavor, not over sauced and pairs with the sauce in just the right way. My kids love it when we get that family pack. They love the mac and cheese and hush puppies.Going to swing by tonight (Thursday rib night) and grab some peach cobbler too!

We have picked up food from Pfafftown Kitchen several times but had never had the Ribs before Sooo good. Smoked all the way through and not fatty at all. A must try!

This is becoming my favorite bbq in the Winston area. If you're from around here, you most likely have a favorite BBQ joint (I did too!) but I am telling you, if you have not tried Pfafftown Kitchen, you are missing out! The Family Pack is our go-to because it is just such a great deal: 1 lb pulled bbq with a takeout sized box of hush puppies and slaw plus 2 large sides for $21!!! I actually think the hush puppies here are better than my old favorite place (if you know you know) - they are like little pillows of heaven. I don't know how they make them so light and crispy at the same time. Mac and cheese tastes like my mamas. The bbq sauce is different than the usual vinegar sauce, and in an amazing way! I was surprised how much I love it. Will post a pic here next time but we already ate it all this time! Goooo get you some. They also have Brisket on Saturday and I am trying that next.
