My girlfriend recently relocated from Huntersville to Troutman and while researching places to eat and drink I found Pellegrino's. Perusing their website it was nice to see they were originally from New Jersey as that is where we were both born and raised. Besides the food we were excited to see they also baked fresh bread and made homemade fresh mozzarella. We stopped in a couple of months ago and ordered a plain cheese pizza to go and a loaf of bread. Both were excellent. We returned to have lunch a couple of days ago and the pizza was excellent. On both occasions we had the pleasure of chatting with the owner. It was funny finding out that we frequented some of the same drinking establishments in NJ. Nice people and I highly recommend trying this place.

4.75Owners and Service- wonderfulSet up- Nice, for small or large partiesWent for Saturday brunch, so unfortunately couldn't speak to their pizza- definitely next time. In town and my sister in law brought us and some friends here for brunch. Wouldn't think of this as the typical brunch spot, but so yummy. Small brunch menu, but quality food.Started with the Italian biscuits and gravy- unique and delicious. Can also get biscuits with preserves- also good. Of course we also enjoyed some mimosas.Veggie Frittata- served with fruit, Italian biscuit (yum), and potatoes. FULL of veggies- eggplant, zucchini, tomatoes- so filling and super flavorful.Ham and Cheddar Strata- Really good, also served with fruit, Italian biscuit, and potatoes. Blueberry pancakes and sausage- large fresh blueberries, large portion, fluffy and light and flavorful.Also had kids explore their brunch pasta, kids chicken tenders, and kids spaghetti and meatball- all were loved.

The food is consistent. Not the best Italian I've had but for a local spot it works for a quick meal. The service attentive. It is your typical Italian pizzeria restaurant ambiance.

3 words...."You gotta go!" (If in the area of course). I found this location via Yelp and the photos looked great. The restaurant is a little off the beaten path and the parking lot shared with other establishments. The service was friendly and fast, with a warm atmosphere! This was my first time visiting and, 10 out of 10, will go back again to try more menu items.

This restaurant located off Main Street in Troutman is a real gem. They have an extensive Italian Menu.The chef/owner is from New Jersey. He really knows how to cook! Everything we had during two visits was delicious!During our first visit we had pasta with clams. O n our second visit, I had eggplant Parmigiana and my husband had a meatball sub. Both were excellent.We will miss this place when we go back to be Florida.

Great overall experience! Food was exceptional, six top and we had pizza, lasagna, lobster ravioli and manicotti. Everything was exceptional waitress was attentive and kept our drinks filled. Pellegrino's is about an hour drive from us, we will definitely make the drive again. Owners came out and made their rounds talking with guests, true Italian restaurant and genuine guys.

I don't understand the hype. This is may be the best Italian place in Troutman, NC but it is not in the top 100 of Italian places that I have visited.The pizzas are dry and tasteless. The tomato sauces on the pizzas and the entrees are dull and bitter, not rich and sweet. If you like tasteless or bitter food that is overpriced...this is the place for you.

I highly recommend making reservations or do carry out. It was a little after 5 when we arrived. There were 2 parties of 2 waiting. One had reservations but his reservation wasn't until 5:30 and although there were open seats seating was declined until the 5:30 reservation. The party of two took menus and were waiting. We waited at least 10 minutes for the young lady to finish with those 2 parties of 2. We were told based on reservations we would have to wait. Did not offer a guesstimate on wait time. When I asked approximately how long the young lady paused and had a puzzled look, shrugging her shoulders and said "maybe" 20 minutes. Twenty minutes is not a long wait and would have waited except in this case based on her expression, long pause and looking as though she truly had no idea how long it would be. We chose to leave. My husband and I both felt like based on the way she answered she really didn't know how to guesstimate the wait and were concerned this wait may easily exceed an hour.

Poor atmosphere cheap ingredients not so tasty , owner creeped wife out. Staff looks uncomfortable when he's around. Probably should be on bar rescue.

Detroit style pizza is AMAZING!! I would eat this every single day if I could and actually cannot stop thinking about it. Can't speak about any other dishes as I've only been there twice and had this pizza both times and couldn't imagine ordering anything else lol.
