Peabody's Wine & Beer Merchants

Peabody's is an essential component to the Boone vibe. Right in the heart of town with ample parking, this is the place for all your beer-related desires. There are numerous styles, both refrigerated and not, arranged together. If you don't know what you want or what it is you're looking for, any of the employees are happy to help. They know their stuff. I am pretty sure they are all cicerone certified. Note that there are no beers on tap. This isn't a place to sit and chill but rather a place to stock up on for home or gifts. There are other products sold in the store besides beer, including glasses, bottle openers, snacks, and more. I love Peabody's so much I bought their paper artwork of male dogs peeing on a building and I have it hung up smack in the middle of my living room. Hell yeah. Support Peabody's, and everybody wins.

A friend and I stopped by here to see if they had any beer on tap. They did not, but offer growlers to go. There's a lot more wine to choose from than beer (which still filled two aisles). There was a small sale section too. I wasn't too impressed with one of the employees who rang us up. He seemed impatient and put out.

Great selection of beers from the region. They have a large selection of wines from the region also. Staff is friendly and helpful. It is a short walk from the courtyard next door.

Pretty good selection of craft beers, both regionally and domestically. The wine selection is pretty large as well. The prices vary and you can find anything from the mid teens and upwards of 100 buckaroos for a bottle. Seeing how anywhere I went in regards to liquor store were closed by 8 or 9pm we decided on settling for beer and wine. I selected a Porcupine Ridge Syrah from South Africa and to be honest, it was rich in flavor yet not overly bold and definitely not dry and it was only 14 and some change. We also took various ciders to give them a whirl and no complaints. The staff isn't over friendly from my experience but they also weren't rude. The proximity to town and the hotels was ideal.

I love visiting Peabody's anytime I am in Boone. I always make a couple of trips there when I am in town. It's such a great bottle shop with friendly staff and an impressive selection. They even offer to special order things if they don't have what you're looking for. They have wine and beer. The wine selection is impressive in that it's a huge selection and they offer wines at every price point. Their wines are organized by region and they are happy to assist you in picking out something you will like. They also have local wines and one of the biggest selections of Mead I have ever seen! I've tried Meads from there that I've never even seen anywhere else. They have a huge local beer selection and many many coolers so you can take home something cold and delicious to enjoy right away! They are super knowledgeable and can even help you with your beer selection. They also have some beers from all over the world. I was very excited once to find a beer there that I'd only ever seen in Costa Rica. I had no idea you could buy it in the US at all! I bought 12 packs for everyone we'd gone to Costa Rica with and they were all very excited! I wish we had a Peabody's in Raleigh!!

Stopped by here on the whim to pick up a few things. They have a large selection of wine and beer as well as some snacks. I would check the expiration date of the snacks before you purchase because I did notice some expired from a few months prior. They also have a selection of non alcoholic beverages. They had some items on sale as well. We purchased a few things and were on our way out. Convenient location and they have a large parking lot!

Came up to the mountains for a wedding weekend. At the last minute we decided we wanted to add some different wines to the evening's events. Described what we were looking for to the guys working and immediately they had recommendations. I told them I felt like a pretentious ass describing what I like in a wine and they go "well, you ARE in a wine store, so go for it". Hilarious. Anyway, my point is that they made me feel comfortable AND they were knowledgeable. Try them out!

I cannot write highly enough of Peabody's in Boone. I stopped in to check it out shortly after I moved to Boone last May, not knowing I'd stumbled upon what would become one of my very favorite local places.This is a place you can be sure to walk out with something you'll enjoy--whether you're a connoisseur or prefer to lean on the staff's expertise, you can easily discover something wonderful here, and for almost any price point. Staff's recommendations are always winners, and I've always been able to find my favorites were in stock. A must experience for visitors to the area & a thoroughly enjoyable mafor locals. Peabody's is always our first stop when getting into Boone. Great selection of beer and wine, and the employees are always super helpful and make good recommendations.
