Honestly, all of these reviews are old... I met the new owner and the place was bought out in 2020 from old ownership. I went for one of there annual red vs. Blue events. or big battle events. It was fun! My girlfriend even had a great time! They take a lot of pride in what they do there. And everyone I encountered was easy to talk and communicate with. They use protective vests and things like that for beginners and new ladies. They want you to feel safe if your nervous about it, and realize that paintball is fun and a great experience. Check them out!

Palmetto is sort of the field that the paintball parents lock in the closet when the neighbors come over. The prices are some of the cheapest available in the Charlotte vicinity, at around 16 bucks to play with your own gear and paint. And the ability to bring your own paintballs is unique in today's paintball market. This allows you to buy the cheapest paint you can find and use it at a field, where the field would normally charge around 50 bucks per case. However, the fields themselves are only mediocre. The pro shop (a partially dilapidated shack next to the parking lot) is run by the family that owns the field. The family is nice enough, but the selection at the store is extremely limited. But the problem that knocks this place down a couple stars for me is that the safety at this field is truly abysmal. You'll find people shooting trees out the back of their cars in the parking lot. You'll find kids walking around in the store without so much as a barrel plug. The chronograph is loosely enforced, meaning that guns could be shooting at a faster velocity than is safe. All these things can lead to accidents in severity that most people underestimate (a paintball WILL destroy an eye at close range.) Not only is that bad for business, but it's bad for the sport of paintball.Like most fields, the referees are underpaid teenagers. Unlike most fields, these kids are poorly managed and seem to dislike their boss greatly. If you're looking for a clean, safe experience, Paintball Central is just down the street. And while you'll pay a lot more to play, your experience will be infinitely better. If you're looking for good speedball or competition, head up to BOSS paintball in Locust, NC. I've played tournaments all over the country, and BOSS houses one of the nicest speedball fields I've ever seen.

This is the only location I've ever played paintball at. And after looking at the prices and the conditions of other locations. Why would I go anywhere else? Reasonable pricesAllows all paintballsAll outdoor and natural terrainStaff is excellent. I tell everyone I know about this place. It is an amazing place to spend a weekend morning. I go about once every two months in the winter months and once a month in the warmer months.

I'm from Lexington, SC and I traveled up with some teammates. Great experience. The owner played in the old days. Has a wall of classic paintball markers. Good playing fields. When I had to sit because my gear malfunctioned the owner was walking around the players area making sure everyone was ok in the heat. Good pro shop as well. I will go back one day soon

You guys are crazy with your bum reviews... Learn to enjoy yourselves and not be so judgmental!!This place rocked and all 4 of the people I brought can attest for that. Our ref was informative, helpful and even joined the fun when one person in my group "accidentally" hit him. It was epic!Bottom line... We had a blast!! I'm planning on going back (once everyone heals) with my crew, family or anyone else that enjoys a good ole fashion battle! Thx Palmetto! We'll be back!!

Inexpensive...you get what you pay for. Not family friendly, there was an lot of x rated foul language. "Staff" was more interested in smoking and looking at their phones than trying to assist patrons. No attempt was made to separate beginners from more experienced players. Beginners were quickly eliminated, then had to wait 20-30 minutes to make another attempt. Shoddy rental equipment...an inexpensive part fell off a rifle in the field and was lost, I had to either find it or pay for it. Overall, not a very good experience, will not return. I would rather spend more and receive courteous attention and at least a little training before playing.

We went with a group Sunday and let's say this.. when you pull up.. the ambience lol isn't very inviting. More walking dead than fun park. The folks are quirky to say the least. But you go for the fields not the staff for PAINTBALL. The guides are hang loose and the fields were great. Variety. I'm looking to scope all the local spots for this game for now. A good outing was had.

Went out Saturday with a few friends to try out paintball for the first time. The owner Fran meet us at the door and was very helpful from start to finish. The paintball guns where clean and the paint was fresh. I didn't have one single problem all day ;)The Ref's went over the rules and showed us the do's and dont's of the game, plus all the weekend warriors where very friendly and had some really nice equipment. We plan on going back out in a few months.played from 10am-4pm and only payed $45 and that included extra paint, drinks, lunch. PBC down the road quoted use close to $110 each for the same fun :(

when i called to find out how much it cost i was told a totally different price. The person told me $20.00 plus tax per player. That included facemask ,gun, and 200 paintballs. It was really $44.00 per player. Also i asked if we could bring our own paintballs and was told yes. Once we were there then told no. So whoever answers the phone does not know the correct info. But the set up and the guys who show you how things work was great. Just dont believe what you are told over the phone. Truely misled
