It's a little spot on Hawthorne that serves up some of the best hot dogs and burgers in town! The only down fall( for me) is that they only take cash, so if your a person whose like me who doesnt always carry cash on them, then You'll need to make an additional stop by an atm or bank, other than that they're delicious with all your favorite add ons to your bruger or hot dog, making every bite just right. While their hot dogs and burgers are the stars, they do offer other options too. Seating is limited-- small sit in area inside and a few picnic tables outside, so plan ahead, especially during the lunch rush.Parking is shared with neighboring businesses, but trust me, it's worth the effort, but again, Just don't forget to bring cash--If you're looking for a quick, satisfying lunch that hits the spot, PB Takeout is the place to be.

Over the last several months I have revisited several of my very favorite hot dog joints, Kermit's, Pulliam's, Mr BBQ, Clark's in Kernersville, Oscar's and the Dog House in High Point, and even Zack's in faraway Burlington. Unfortunately, Greensboro doesn't have in outstanding hot dog joints anymore. On this day I visited another really great hot dog stand, PB's. This place has changed little since it opened in 1987. and that's a good thing, especially considering how great the dogs still are.I ordered one with mustard, chili. and onions, one with kraut and mustard, and an order of FF. As usual, everything was excellent

My last experience with this place was during the COVID-era, and as a I mentioned in my review, I felt I needed a more normal experience at a later date because things just seemed off (they were, in so many ways). Well thankfully, we are in the after-times now, and I was able to return to P.B.s for a proper evaluation, and now, I have to say it is one of my favorite hot dogs in the area. Two hot dogs all the way for me. They grill and butter the bun, which, is basically a prerequisite for me now if you're going to crack my top hot dogs list. The frank tasted different to me this time, they may have had supply issues during COVID and had to make a switch, this one had a much better flavor. I think their cole slaw is one of my favorites in the area, it's not heavy on mayo, keeps things from getting soggy and provides that slightly vinegary crisp. The chili, while not topping my list, is meaty and again, doesn't make a sloppy mess of things, i don't like a runny chili.I got fries this time, and they're the crinkle kind. I know people have opinions, they were well cooked, but nothing special. Which is fine. I'm here for hot dogs, full stop. You can now sit inside again if you want, but PB's is best enjoyed on a sunny day either outside at their picnic tables or in a nearby park. I'll return again and again for a top 5 Triad hot dog experience.

We were in the area and had seen many positive reviews for P.B's and decided to stop in for lunch. We had driven by before and knew how tiny it was. With just about 15 barstools and counters lining the interior walls there was a short line of customers waiting to place their orders at the counter. The menu is simple and consists of hotdogs, burgers, tots and wings. We inquired if their chili had beans and since it didn't my wife and I both decided to order a hotdog "all the way" with modifications. She ordered hers with no mustard and I ordered mine with no slaw. I also ordered tots with mine. Our total was less than $10. As others have said they are a cash only establishment. We waited a few minutes until our order number was called and went outside. We decided to have a seat at one of the two picnic tables. We both thought the hotdogs were okay but nothing special. However, they did hit the spot. If you are looking for fast, cheap, and easy, P.B's is a good choice. With chili, onions, slaw and mustard the "all the way" has the makings for a yummy lunch. This place has been an establishment in the Ardmore area for many years and certainly has a following. They are reasonably priced, provide quick service and are relatively easy in and out. They do not have a drive through but the time was just about the same. This is virtually no comparison to most sit down restaurants but it is however, a great place to grab a quick bite. My wife also inquired if their corndogs were hand dipped after spotting them on the menu but was told they were frozen.

PB's Takeout is my favorite (and the best) hot dog joint in Winston. I have tried most of the Yelp recommendations for hot dog joints and polled some locals, and PB's consistently comes up as #1. I come here once a week as a treat. The service is always fast and friendly. Everyone is a well-oiled machine, from the cashier to the person answering the phone to the line cooks. Everything flows. The ambiance is divey but clean and in line with some of the older lunch counter establishments in the area. I often sit at the outdoor tables or inside when I'm not in a rush, and I have always had a pleasant experience. I always order the two hot dog special, all the way with fries and a Diet Dr. Pepper, which only sets me back just under $12 with tax. It has NEVER disappointed me. Every dog topping is in perfect harmony and consistent every time. The crinkle-cut fries are always hot and plentiful, and I'm never left feeling too stuffed or still hungry. NOTE: They only accept cash and do not have an ATM. If you want a solid dog, great service and a great price come by for a delicious lunch or dinner.

Got the hankerin' for some classic chili dogs! PB's is a Winston-Salem institution. Don't expect anything fancy, just some great dogs and fries. You will see folks from every economic strata here. You can eat indoors or outdoors at the picnic tables. Highly recommend for when you need great dogs!

A must stop for a hot dog all the way. They even have fountain Cheerwine. This is a little hole in the wall but it sure does pack a punch with flavor.

Great hot dogs. Crispy fries. Exactly what you want from a hot dog joint - nothing fancy. Just good foot fast. Bring your cash because they don't take cards. Enjoy the picnic tables or head down to the park nearby.

P.B.'s is a friendly, fast and casual neighborhood take out spot serving up old fashioned burgers and hot dogs since 1987. Inside, you'll find old fashioned bar seating lining the perimeter of the small interior. There are also a few picnic tables outside that offer additional covered seating. I tried a double cheeseburger for the first time recently and I am not making this up - the burger was stacked SO thick it was honestly hard to get my mouth open wide enough to take a bite! That just tells you how thick the burger patties are. I absolutely love their hot dogs because I grew up on this style of hot dog at the Tasty Freeze in my hometown not too far from here. The buttery buns wrap around the hot dog and toppings creating the perfect bite, every time. I love how P.B.'s is located in the heart of the Ardmore neighborhood which makes things so convenient to walk and grab lunch if you live in the area. I will never quit P.B.'s!
