Oriental Cafe Chinese Restaurant

Was nervous about the mixed reviews but stayed optimistic. Wanted to try a new Chinese place in the area but should have stuck with anywhere else. The food was edible, but didn't taste like typical Chinese at all. Actually, in my opinion the rice wasn't even edible -- this is NOT fried rice. Everything was very bland. Their white sauce was neon pink, which was also questionable. Our waitress took and delivered our order but never came back otherwise, although we were the only ones in the place. We had to request to pay and get a box. Won't be returning or recommending.

Only place anywhere around that serves Roast Pork Egg Foo Young. It is excellent. The spouse like their chicken loo main and egg drop soup.

This place is terrible. It sucks because its the only Chinese Restaurant nearby. I ordered a variety of items off their menu since this place was the only Chinese restaurant (if you want to call it that) around . I threw every bit of it in the trash . I was warned but decided to give them a chance , next time I'm listening . DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE !!!!!!

This is the Worst Chinese Restaurant I've ever eaten at. The food is horrible quality and it doesn't even taste remotely close to what it should taste like. I've been all over the US and this is by far the worst. We drive all the way to Hickory for Take Out Chinese Food because we're actually getting good food. I'm sorry but this place needs to get with the program! Yuk!

Food was ok but the owner was arguing with an employee for the longest time to take my order was like forever. It was my first time there and I just think I won't be back the food was ok not great

Food was horrible. It was so bad. My hogs wouldn't even eat it. Stay away Every item on the menu was marked up 50 Cent more than on the menu don't waste your money!!!

the only reason I'm giving one star is cause of the fried rice being okay to start off I walked in and was greeted by this nice younger girl and i proceeded to look at the desk at the menue I had been craving shrimp fried rice so I said let me get a small shrimp fried rice first off 9 dollars is ridiculous but I proceeded to pay then the wait for the rice was prolly ten mins i could have cooked it in max 3 with as slow as they are and then another lady walks in orders all of a sudden she says how rude and says give me my money back now she was alottle bit of a Karen but the owner ig couldent make somthing on the menu idk then the owner proceeds to yell and scream at the poor girl up front for one mistake she did she's new too me and another lady tried calming her but to no luck I thought abt leaving and getting a refund but I said no ill wait got my rice walked out food is mid asf won't be back due to service attitude of the owner and the price kotos and Nikki's are top tier won't be back don't come here all the bad reviews are real I tried to give the benefit of the doubt but was proven wrong

Just tried takeout here first time tonight and I was not disappointed! The staff was very kind and the order came out quickly. Portion sizes are huge and the food is delicious! I will definitely be ordering again!

Excellent! My son and I are foodies from Florida and we needed a Chinese food fix while visiting. My son is a professional cook and I grew up cooking with a Japanese mother who was also a sushi chef and loved Chinese food so we both know what quality Asian food looks and tastes like. We started with the handmade hand-rolled shrimp and vegetable egg rolls that were so packed full of goodness and fresh ingredients that I wish I had taken two dozen home with us! Crispy and sizable I thought I was back in New York and London where the Chinese food is superb. We shared a big bowl of won-ton soup that was hearty with handmade hand-folded won-tons in a delicate broth -so good! For the main course, I had the cashew chicken and my son had the pineapple chicken both were beautifully executed and delicious but I think mine was the best, packed with hand cut chunks of white meat chicken, fresh vegetables and the perfect amount of crunchy cashews. Helen the owner is from Macau and she is a beautiful person that takes great pride in her food, she explained how they make the food from scratch and use only the freshest ingredients. This little town should really appreciate having such a nice place to eat - we would love to have a great Chinese restaurant like this where we live. Please visit her, go inside and sit, there are not many Chinese restaurants you can still have this kind of experience in.
