Olde Tavern

I would say Olde Tavern is a fine choice if you're out & about & hungry. The food is fine. The ambiance is nice, but you're not really sure how it goes with the food/theme? The service is fine. I kind of look at it the same way I look at Chili's ‍

I have been here several times and the food is consistently good. Tonight, we were seated quickly and our order was taken by Brooke. The food came out hot and everything was delicious. My ribeye was cooked to perfection and the potato cakes were wonderful as always. It's not often that everything comes out hot and correct. Brooke was attentive, but not intrusive. Our meals were simple and good. Will be returning!!

The service was absolutely horrible. 20 minutes after we order she finally started to put the order in. The food was mediocre. 2 of us asked for bbq sauce, she brought 1 after some time. Asked for another ...again....never got it. I have never had service so bad as I experienced tonight.

Service was very slow. Then our server disappeared. Since we had long since finished our drinks and cold appetizer, we cashed out instead of ordering dinner. This place used to be decent, but food and service have gone downhill.

Our group of 20 was given the side room and a huge long table. And an open memo. The service was friendly and efficient. The atmosphere comfortable. And after a request to the waitstaff to compliment the cook, he came out to thank us personally. I went big and had the Angus RibEye as did a couple friends. Various sides were had. The steak was a bit fatty but that's where the flavor comes from .. along with some wonderful subtle seasonings that didn't get in the way of the natural flavor. all others seemed pleased with their meals as well. Oh and some Chares pulled pork nachos were very nice! Friend and I shared a bottle of California Cab. Went with the steak nicely .. it had enough acid and tannins that preferred being with rich food. I would go back for sure

First time eating from here. Horrible wings, the skin was rubbery and had absolutely no taste at all. These were supposed to be Garlic Parmesan wings. As you can see, they were burnt black on the edges.

We moved here recently and we have enjoyed Olde Tavern several times. It is our go-to for consistent good food/drink, and our #1 pick for best wings in this area. Great Mom and Pops Tavern with a good vibe.Mgr. Chris is excellent with the customer service and our service and drinks are always on point.Try Olde Tavern and I am sure it will make your Hickory short list.

First of all let me say I'm glad not everybody likes this place.That way I don't have to wait for my food. It always comes out hot and fresh and tastes great. Can you really judge a restaurant for its wait staff for the last two years? If we've learned anything through the pandemic, it has taught us that any business that survived did something right.I won't tell you if this restaurant is good or bad, but I will say that many other restaurant workers and owners in the local area, Come here for great food and good times.

When all things work well this is a good place to eat. Good menu and food choices. Couple of really good servers who provide excellent service. It's casual and family friendly.
