Man! What?!?! Why didn't anyone tell Me about this place!!!Look no further if you're seeking genuine italian influenced cuisine. It's a neighborhood restaurant and the locals are extremely friendly and welcoming. The chicken parmigiana is magnificent! Another person ordered the veal marsella and all I heard across the table was "mmm mmm mm", and she's a veal snob. lolThe meal, the service, the prices, and the friendliness of neighboring tables made this place epic!! It was packed, so i'd suggest a reservation, but it was the holiday season which may make a difference. I don't give 5 haphazardly, OGGI was that and more. I've sent others to experience this gem in Ballyntyne and they agree. I loved everything about it, and going back in a few days for more. Well worth the drive to support a family business. Great aura and Italian ambiance including outdoor area.We didn't have wine but service was great, waited a bit for water but looked like manager or higher up was helping too which was great for service and didn't push for food all the time to flip the tableFortana is rice balls and delicious, got chili sauce with it which hit the spot. That was my favoriteI got eggplant for entree and it was too bland for me and limited ways to add spice. But the gnocchi was delicious. I'd go back to try the meat entrees

Went to Oggi to celebrate a dear friends birthday dinner and the food and service were great . I've been to Italy a few times and I can confidently say OGGI is one of the most authentic Italian restaurants in Charlotte. It's a bit pricey but worthy for special occasions. I'll be back .

Overall, a decent neighborhood ristorante. While my risotto could have been improved, the friendly service and the other dishes my group sampled were quite good. The ambiance, however, seems a bit undecided between a cozy restaurant vibe and a contemporary feel. On the plus side, there's plenty of parking available.

The carbonara was disgusting. The noodles were not flat or fresh - straight out of a box, the sauce was bland. It was not even a carbonara. The muscles were mediocre at best and didn't match the lovely Tuscan sauce in the menu photos online - a tomato sauce. My wife and I have been coming here for years. Their prices were always extremely high, but the food quality made up for it. They must have gotten a new (terrible) chef as it all went downhill. I can truly say this was the most expensive and worst Italian food I've ever had. I've had better Olive Garden. I give it a year before they shut their doors. Me and my entire family will never (ever) come back. They cut corners to save money and they're gonna pay for it, sadly.

The hostess was very sweet, beginning with opening the door for us to enter, giving us a booth, and then opening the door again for us to exit the restaurant. I ordered the penne pasta and added chicken ($22+$6) and delanie ordered the chicken parmigiana ($28). Both dishes were very tasty and the chicken parm was very tender. However, I was a little disappointed with the chicken added into the penne--not really a fan of grilled chicken and it seemed very little for the $6 I paid to add it. Our waiter was very attentive and brought us fresh parmigiana for our meals along with rounds of warm and delicious bread. The meal ended up being $60 in total which is kind of expensive considering the portion size, but very enjoyable nonetheless.

I haven't had a bad meal here. Everything is always 100% delicious. I will admit I have a pretty good palate and enjoy amazing food, made well. If you're looking for the same, this is the place. It is not inexpensive so be ready to spent 150 bucks if you want tasty beverages, but I promise you won't leave saying it isn't noteworthy! Worth the splurge if you are a seldom out eater. Go!

We did takeout tonight as a special treat for New Years Eve. Oggi has always been one of our favorite restaurants with exceptionally fresh food andpasta. Tonight's meal was horrific!!! The quality of the ingredients were inferior and balance of flavor ( which was usually fabulous) was so off with overly salty and bitter tastes. Where did the fresh quality and taste of Italy go?The carbonara was unrecognizable and frankly so salty it was inedible. The pistachio tiramisu left a very bitter an unpleasant after taste. If the restaurant has changed hands then it is sad that they are cutting corners on quality. Speaking for myself and my recent experience, I will never go back to Oggi nor will I recommend it to anyone. It was a total waste of $140.
