Located 20 minutes outside Asheville,we decided to stop on our way back to Charlotte.Very small locally sourced distillery located in a small industrial area .They are a 100 % grain to glass small batch gin and whiskey distillery. They do tastings for only 1.00 each, flights as well as hand crafted cocktails. We tried their Barrel Reserve Gin matured in casks for at least 1 yr,Single Malt Whiskey and their Rye Whiskey. They do sell bottles to go but we're out of the Rye since it is a limited release only available at the distillery.Their spirits are good in taste and are worth a visit.

The Barrel Blending workshop at Oak and Grist made me a master blender for the day. Thank you, Will and Charlie, for a behind the scenes look at Oak and Grist to see how the magic happens. Allowing me to be part of the process was priceless. I wanted to know more about the flavor profiles and nuances of a great whiskey. Where do those flavors come from when there are only 3 basic ingredients in each bottle? Having the opportunity to blend my own bottle of single malt whiskey from 4 different barrels and label it with my personal choices to go home with me was amazing. First we tasted 4 different single barrel whiskeys straight from the barrel at barrel proof (around 130%). The oak barrels ranged from new with different chars to reused (wine and bourbon!). Then the blending began. Using these same 4 whiskeys at 92.5% we analyzed profiles, tasted and blended the 4 single malts until we found our perfect elixir. What a great experience! Looking forward to my next dram as I reminisce exactly how this blend came to be.

Located about 15-20 minutes east of Asheville out off I-40. Do a flight to sample their products. Their Speyside- style single malt and their American malt whiskeys were pretty good. Plenty of parking on sight. Staff was friendly and interesting yo talk to. The flight was just $5 for 5 tastes. Well worth it!

What a find! We popped in on whim while in town for a long weekend and so glad we did!! Cute place with plenty of outdoor seating but limited inside. All products are unique and delicious, and staff are knowledgeable with answering questions. Start with the flight so you can taste each product and then choose a cocktail ( or 2) highlighting your favorite(s).

We only did a tasting and I'm not sure on the tour options as we only did a tasting and cocktails. Very unique- tried the gins and malts but bourbon is more of my thing. The cocktails now- amazing! The Raspberry Digestif was delicious, the amaretto sour with egg whites so yummy and a great old fashion.Awesome patio with comfy couches, giant Jenga and connect 4 with fantastic weather and what else could you want!

What a super cool find in Black Mountain. A cool micro distillery. We got an awesome tour by the distiller. I love seeing these new distilleries pop up. Their Gin was unique so I grabbed a bottle. I am excited to see their whiskey as it ages.I recommend trying it. I can not wait to come back in a couple of years and see the progress.

The staff were very friendly and super knowledgeable. You could tell they were passionate about what they do. Recommend getting a flight and then decide on a cocktail. Hands down the best old fashion I've ever had.

How have I not reviewed this hidden gem yet?! It's SUCH a cool place! I totally recommend this (like, to everyone). It's a fun spot, with chill outdoor seating. I don't know what it is, but between the great staff and the fantastic cocktails.....it just zens me out when we visit! My thoughts on their current selection: The Dark Rhythm Gin is a great base liquor; very smooth and it's totally a solid gin. Not necessarily ground breaking, but a fantastic addition for any bar (especially for mixed drinks). Their Barrel Reserve Gin very unique. I might prefer this one personally; it adds some sweeter notes and is different from others I've tried. The Malt Whisky was our least favorite. Drinkable, but not for me. Now the Single Malt reminded us of Glennorangie Scotch (which is a good thing!). This is a great sipping (or cocktail mixing) whisky. Not particularly peaty, but more stone fruit and leather forward. I love this place, and will continue to return again, and again.

A-maz-ing! My husband and I live near the bourbon trail in KY and we were both impressed with the quality of these spirits. We each got the gin/whiskey flight and a cocktail and were blown away. We brought our 5 month old baby and the staff was VERY friendly and accommodating. This will be a new reoccurring stop on our annual trip to Asheville

A great tour. Very small distillery. The seasonal drink offerings all sounded delish. I had a gin based one. Well worth the stop. All the employees we interacted with were knowledgable and helpful.
