I had my wedding here on 10/8/22. This place exceeded all of my expectations! The views are beautiful, the staff was the absolute best. My wedding planner at the club, Halee- she was the best person ever. My guests had the best time and I can't thank Halee and the rest of the staff enough. You made my day perfect and I would recommend NorthStone to anyone and everyone!! The food is beyond good! All of my guests raved about the food!! This was one of the happiest days of my life and I seriously can't thank NorthStone and Halee enough!! If I could give this rating a million stars I would!! Thank you thank you thank you for everything!!

This review pertains specifically to the restaurant at Northstone Country Club. We joined their 13 week trivia this fall so I've had a weekly opportunity to try a number of different items on their menu. My overall take is that there is a talented band of chefs in this kitchen. A lot of the offerings are typical American restaurant offerings (ie. potato skins, avocado cobb salad, shrimp or fish tacos). I point this out because they have a talent for making things taste a little elevated, just a little better than the same version of whatever you ordered you'd find at the restaurant down the street. They're definitely doing a lot of the prep work in-house and it shines. For example, the Baja Fish Tacos (I got mine as Baja Shrimp Tacos) is two tacos with shredded lettuce, pico de gallo, jack and cheddar cheeses and their chipotle lime sauce. ($11.50) Their chipotle lime sauce doesn't taste like it came from a jar, it tastes like someone who knows what they're doing whipped it up in their kitchen. And it tastes pretty darned great.Northstone Sizzling Steak Tips (blackened steak tips seared on a sizzling platter of sauteed mushroom and onion $17.50) was on special last week for $15.95. I expected to see a small amount of slightly gristly steak tips and we were all surprised to see sizzling plates come out mounded with generous amounts of beautiful steak tips. And our whole table was slightly jealous of the table next to us who ordered them (and not just because they came in 1st that night).Sometimes people at our table will split a dish because we've already eaten and NCC is one of the only restaurants I've seen that splits a dish with grace, meaning, the Avocado Cobb Salad (grilled chicken, applewood smoked bacon, tomato, blue cheese, egg, avocado $12) we split came out as two generously portioned, beautifully decorated smaller salads. I appreciated the effort that was made to make the split plates look just as delicious as if we'd ordered one. And they tasted great. I took chef's choice for the dressing and he chose Blue Cheese and... yum. So, we've tried the Loaded Potato Skins $9.50, Chinese Dim Sum $10, Classic Quesadilla $9.50, Southern Chicken Salad $11.50, Mushroom Bacon and Swiss Burger $11, Grilled Turkey Burger $10.50, Fish Tacos, $11.50, Super Grouper $11, fries, onion rings, tater tots and probably others that I just haven't paid attention to. Not a single person has had complaints aside from the burgers being cooked not enough or too much. With 8 people over multiple weeks that's a great track record. The food here is solid. The staff every night we've been is great. Consistently the same faces, friendly and welcoming. They have good memories and tend to remember if you have a favorite drink or dish. You can request a favored table. Downside to trivia is everyone comes in and orders drinks and dinner and checks at the exact same time so you sometimes get a delay but it all works out.Tipping is a little uncomfortable here because they automatically put a 17% tip on your bill and the wait staff splits 14% of it equally between the day and night time servers. You feel like you should add a little more but how much? Who gets that little bit extra? Tipping here feels awkward for that reason.I've noticed multiple people come to the bar to get take-out. It never would have occurred to me to do so but what a great idea. Their food is generally excellent. This kitchen is on point.

Pros:I had been searching for a place to host our wedding and reception for months before discovering Northstone Country Club. During our visit, we decided that "this was it!" We wanted to have our wedding and reception at the same place as a convenience to our guests. They were able to customize a menu that fit our budget perfectly! Our wedding took place outside at the gazebo and our reception was held inside their beautiful ballroom. All I had to do was bring my decorations and they were responsible for setting everything up and taking it down.Cons:Our guests complained that they were only given water to drink. My biggest complaint was the fact that they took our cake to the back after our cake cutting. Unbeknowst to me, lots of guests didn't get a slice of cake. We had more than enough of cake, so that should've never happened. Towards the end of the night, my aunt passed the kitchen and noticed that almost an entire layer of cake was just sitting there. When she noticed it, she brought it to their attention and that's when they brought it out for those of us who were left to take some home. If my aunt never noticed the cake, it would've been left for the staff to eat.

Exceeds all expectations: great food, challenging and meticulously maintained golf course and wonderful staff. I feel very fortunate to live nearby NorthStone but would go well out of my way to enjoy all the club's offerings and amenities. The best value club in Lake Norman.

I visited Northstone for a charity fundraiser. Parking was convenient and the room was well decorated. I must say, drinks were flowing, and they were quite tasty. Specifically, the lemon drop martini! The food was pretty amazing as well. I tried the pork tenderloin which melted in my mouth! I also had a bit of the seafood gumbo which was on the spicy side, but I loved it. Dessert was a slice of key lime pie that was scrumptious! I look forward to visiting for lunch one day soon.

Attended a wedding reception here and I'm guessing the ball room holds about 200 including Dj and dance floor. The staff seemed a little frazzled with some mix ups at tables and forgetting drink orders and only half the guest actually got appetizers. The guest had a choice of chicken, salmon, or steak and chicken fingers for the kids. The food was pretty good, the room nicely decorated and overall a nice reception venue.

This is one of the best CC restaurants I have ever been too. The food is great, it was so good that I had my rehearsal dinner here for my wedding. The atmosphere is not the best but the folks and food are great.

I wish I could give this place NO stars. First of all the food tasted like it came out of a can and most importantly, the food and beverage director has NO respect for his employees. I heard him go back into the kitchen and yell at the kitchen staff over something. I was planning on joining to have a social membership at the club but Jim Grill is the biggest pile of garbage I have ever come across in my years of dining. I spoke to a nice young lady at the bar and she said its normal for him to do that!!! The club is gorgeous, the golf course and staff are excellent but I told my host that I would never be apart of a club where a person in authority like Jim Grill had a say in what food I was eating. Don't join this club, from my few minutes observing him I would rather eat out of a garbage can. Only join to play golf.
