Here for a picnic lunch and a walk around the park, North Mecklenburg Park is quite large. 98 acres includes four lighted baseball fields, two outdoor shelters, two playgrounds, four lighted basketball courts, six lighted tennis courts, two lighted soccer fields and benches with picnic shelters and grills. They've also recently installed a dirt biking area that looks like fun!I particularly enjoyed the walking trails that surround the park. Some folks were keeping their social distancing, many were not. (September 2020.)The park is in excellent condition, as are nearly all of the Mecklenburg parks.[Review 13839 overall, 1161 of 2020, number 2530 in North Carolina.]

I like this park for my oldest, 4. I like the huge sandbox with all the sandbox toys. I like the separate play areas. I would say this park is for 3 to 10 or so to play independently. My 16 mo. old was probably a bit intimidated by the size of the play equipment. With parent encouragement and assistance she was not feeling going down the slide or getting on the dinosaur BUT she was good playing with the little puzzle area. For both girls to expend energy we'll go to Park Rd Park. There are two separate play areas for different age groups. For now, when my dude and I divide and conquer, it'll be good bringing our oldest here, since it's so close to the house.

North Meck Park offers a large variety of outdoor activities, including a mountain biking/running trail. The park was turned over to the Town of Huntersville in 1999, who has been operating it since. Also included in the park's 98 acres are four full-court basketball courts, two playgrounds, two baseball/softball fields, two shelters, two soccer fields and multiple benches and picnic tables.Located off Hwy 115/Old Statesville Rd. about a mile south of Hwy. 73, I frequent this park a lot for the basketball courts and the mountain bike/running trail. The trail is nice in that it winds through the woods, offering the illusion of being miles away from civilization. At 3.5 miles, it is not incredibly long or difficult, but is a quick ride and still fun, with a few log obstacles and bridges to keep things interesting. The park's hours of operation are dawn until dusk.

This is my son's favorite playground! They have a sandbox, see saw, swings, a "t-Rex" and a decent jungle gym area for the kids. But I feel like it's the windiest playground in Huntersville. The park also has mountain biking, tennis, softball and baseball.

This is a pretty decent park, however it's not the best for runners. I go there to run every so often and it's much more of a bikers park with the trails. The loop is somewhere between 3.5 and 4 miles. My GPS watch never cooperates when I run it. It's well marked and easy to follow the loop. It's very beautiful and dense with trees, leaves and nature. You can really "get lost" in there. They also have softball fields that I assume leagues take part in. It's close to 485 and Gilead road but not the easiest to get to if you're not near there.

They have a great playground for my 16 month old. They have a sandbox with shovels and toys (mini diggers and bulldozers). They have multiple slides that accommodate his age and the entire playground has a rubber flooring - making falls easier

A good 4 mile mountain bike loop that is good for all levels of riders. Not too technical, yet several fun obstacles and a creek crossing. Come on over and get some mud in your diet.

My 2 yr old grandsons are visiting me for a week. I was looking for a good shady park for little ones. Took them here yesterday and it was great. They were putting up new swings and had removed a tettertotter that was not safe. It is maintained and great for small children. As mentioned in other reviews has trails, ball fields and picnic area among other things. I found it to be one of the best. Also lots of benches for adults to sit and watch children play.
