This business is by far one of the best hidden gems in all of Hickory. It's a small business but don't be deterred by that. It packs a BIG punch of horror and keeps you on your toes the whole time. Couldn't be happier with the staff or the experience. Best birthday I've had in awhile, thanks to the folks at Nocturne Adventures!

Soooooooo scary and immersive. Incredibly good acting and just fantastic people. If you are a horror fan, this escape room is a must. Fun puzzles that all made sense and were enjoyable, plus a horrifying storyline that kept us on our toes!

First time couples escape room. Been to a dozen escape rooms across Southern California and this was done fantastically well with a live horror theme. Definitely recommend others to try this experience if in the area with a group of friends. The owners really care about giving a memorable and challenging experience.

Our company did a team building event at Nocturne Adventures and I absolutely loved it. 10/10 and definitely the best escape room in the area. I have been to about 7 escape rooms within Hickory, Charlotte, Asheville, and Atlanta and this one is top notch! The Ripper is like a haunted house combined with an escape room - such a great idea. I can't wait to go back and visit their future escape rooms.

Cannot recommend this escape room enough!!! The puzzles were challenging and interesting and flowed so well. It was definitely a room to keep you on your toes!! Best escape room we've done!

I run the Charlotte Escape Room Enthusiasts Meetup group, and we went to visit Nocturne yesterday for their Ripper room and absolutely had a blast! I've personally done over 70 escape rooms and I can say with 100% confidence this place is a top notch. We were blown away by it. Everything from the theming to the feel and flow of the room to the live actors and even some nice little personal touches they include in there. I can guarantee that you will have an amazing experience here whether it's your first room or your 100th. Definitely check them out!

We tried the Edgar Allen Poe room. Extremely detailed and creative! We didn't know what to expect when we pulled up to a house but the experience was spectacular! Very thought provoking and you can tell a lot of effort was put into it. The owners were so friendly and helpful and it is not timed. 10/10 recommend for an outing with your family!

we did nevermore and it was the best escape room i have ever played !! the clues are so clear and the world building/attention to detail is so evident. they hand make every puzzle and put so much love into perfecting their props and atmosphere. it was beautifully theatrical, immersive, and perfectly spooky. the people who run this room are so kind and lovely!

What an amazing experience! We've been to a bunch of escape rooms and love all things horror related, especially high-quality haunted houses like Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights. Nocturnal Adventures absolutely nails the horror themed escape room vibe to perfection. There's a PG-13 version or R rated version- we recommend the R rated. If you're gonna do it, then get the full experience. There is nothing like trying to concentrate on deciphering clues in low-lit rooms with creepy music (great sound system really adds to the ambiance), all the while knowing that at any moment the Ripper could come charging around a corner, yelling like a deranged Leatherface. I've done a million haunted houses before, but let me tell you, the Ripper's actions, and booming voice when he comes into the room looking for you can really leave you rattled when you have to run and find a hiding spot. And then you must try to resume your work after he leaves, wondering how long you have until he comes back around? Good luck. Not to spoil anything, but they have a couple of other really cool features that really helped up the ante of scary/creepy vibes. You can really tell that this is a labor of love for the owners. Their passion really shines through. They were more than willing to talk with us afterward and show us around with the lights turned on. Even if they may not be local to where you live, I recommend you make the drive- we drove for almost an hour to get there, and it was well worth it.

After completing hundreds of escape rooms in the Carolinas, I can confidently say Nocturne Adventures' Ripper is in a league of its own! Whether you're new to escape rooms or a seasoned veteran, I couldn't recommend Nocturne Adventures more. The entire experience from start to finish was amazing and the perfect way to celebrate a birthday in our group! Nocturne Adventures perfectly blends horror elements and puzzles into the escape room to create an experience like no other! If you have been seeking the scary experience you haven't been able to find yet, I would highly recommend Ripper's Super Scary version! You will not find anything like it! For those skeptical that Nocturne Adventures is based in a home, let me assure you that there is no need for concern. The owners and staff were very friendly and hospitable and made our group feel more comfortable than we have even in escape rooms in shopping centers/malls. Nocturne Adventures has set the bar extremely high for future escape rooms. I can't wait to come back!
