Definitely a place to go on a special occasion. The chef show was very entertaining. You even get the onion volcano that teppanyakis are known for. They go out of their way to provide good service and the man who I assume is the owner came by several times to ensure we were having a good dining experience. The portion sizes are very large. You won't go away hungry.

So this was the second time we've been to Noboru... the first time we went everything was amazing. I was actually excited I found a Japanese restaurant in the Charlotte area that was decent... the portions were perfect, service was excellent and food was delicious! The second time was a completely different experience. The food was definitely still tasty.. but the portion size was literally half of what we had before. Japanese steakhouse are known to give great portions of rice (and noodles at this establishment)... but this visit wasn't even close. We were one of the last tables seated so I'm not sure if they ran out of rice and noodles but I would have rather them had told us they couldn't accommodate.I wish I took a picture of my plate after I received the entree but the meat to rice ratio was insane. My to go box was full of meat. Needless to say I think I'll have to keep driving further north in hopes of finding a better establishment... because according to our waitress the portions were normal. Who wants to pay over $30 for a plate to leave unsatisfied smh.

First time here. I have been eating at Kabutos for 27 years and always loved it. I am conflicted... the meal was good but I was soo disappointed by the scant amount of rice. I had looked at the menu in advance so I already knew I would be paying more than Kabutos, but I justified it in my head because I knew I'd have a lot of leftovers. Not only did I not have leftover rice, but I actually ran out halfway through the meal and would've eaten more which is crazy. Lastly, she offered our checks without even bothering to offer dessert and then I learned that they only had a couple of options and no ice cream at all, which is very much a disappointment.

Love a good Japanese steak house and this one didn't disappoint! We were seated quickly and our soup came right out - then salad - their ginger dressing is very tasty! The chef prepared my steak and scallops perfectly! They give you a ton of food! So come hungry. The only thing missing is the Japanese steak houses down here don't off something called Sakura sauce basically an egg yolk sauce which is delicious on seafood - we are from Ohio and it is common there! They also offer a sushi bar and a full bar area with TV's for sports fans! The place needs a bit of attention here n there but I guess they are the new owners so it's a work in process. I found the staff very nice and efficient!

I visited on a Sunday afternoon for my nephew's bday in the hibachi area. The restaurant had just opened for the evening so there was hardly anyone else there. Staff was extremely friendly. The manager visited our table to ensure that we were accommodated well (we had one in our party using a mobility scooter). The hibachi chef was very interactive as well. The hibachi food was good and the sushi was excellent. I ordered the Jackpot roll and believe it was one of the best sushis I have had. I was also very happy that they served Kikkoman plum wine (my favorite). Dining area is very casual, mostly table/chairs set-up. The hibachi area that we were in had about 5-6 grill-dining areas. Overall, decent casual spot so I would visit again/recommend.

I was hopeful that my experience would be an alignment with all of the reviews that I read.....and it was!!! It started with making the reservation for my daughter's birthday dinner. I reviewed other sushi bars in the area and the reviews were so mixed I didn't want to take the chance. When I called, the person answering was very professional, friendly, I even had to call to push back the reservation by 30 minutes and I was met with accommodation. But the kicker was when even after all of that, our party still did not arrive on time. The rule is to wait for the whole party before being seated but we were already later than our reservation AND it was the last reservation for the evening. He still waited for our whole party and was willing to seat us (and with a pleasant attitude). Not only that, but he took into account that my Mom was walking with a walker and sat us in a private area at the front of the restaurant so she wouldn't have to walk far. Let me tell you, when I dine out with my family and I'm shown just genuine thoughtfulness and kindness, it means everything. We had a party of 9. Service was outstanding. The soup we started with had my husband bragging. Usually, he doesn't like it but I think he licked his bowl. Rarely am I excited about the salad, but that ginger dressing was so fresh and so delicious. My sister and I had a five minute long conversation about it.We all got hibachi just to keep things simple, I mean we were already keeping the staff late, but I would love to come back and try the sushi or other items on the menu. We had various types including shrimp, chicken, steak and vegetarian. We had a great time with our chef. He was HILARIOUS, engaging, and the food was good. No one made us feel like we were inconveniencing them. Our server Celeste was very friendly and helpful. She let me know that the tip is split between her and all of the kitchen staff. She also explained the service charge on our bill when we asked. Note: There is a service charge that is added to the bill due to the size of the party but there is still a request for a tip. I can understand someone not wanting to pay gratuity after the service charge. However, when the decision was made to allow us to still be seated and served inevitably that meant that a whole bunch of other staff were going to be working later than planned well after closing. My daughter had a WONDERFUL birthday dinner as a result. For that I am extremely grateful. I tipped in addition to the service charge because it wasn't just our server who was impacted. I encourage anyone who likes a good Japananese steakhouse to give Noboru a try. You'll appreciate the personable service, delicious food and beautiful decor. Even the bathroom was well kept with 3 stalls (two gender specific restrooms). Oh another tip, there was an outlet next to my chair so I was able to charge my phone, bonus! One more thing, I'm not sure if it was the owner or manager but he checked on us throughout our dinner. Nice touch. Customer service, top notch.

Wow! We came here on a whim with my parents and we absolutely loved this experience. Here is a full recap...We arrived at 5:15pm on a Sunday and there was already a 15 min wait for hibachi table, we went up to the bar to wait / grab a cocktail. To our surprise, we had one of the best old fashioneds we have had in charlotte!!so amazing! Our table was ready and then we sat down, had an incredible meal and really enjoyed the owners (husband and wife) who were so genuine and passionate and really wanted us to love our first experience there. - filet- jumbo shrimp - veggies- fried rice - noodles - fried green beans - gyoza We will definitely be back. :) amazing experience!

The service here was noticeably friendly, quick, and accommodating. The atmosphere of the restaurant was also very nice. The restaurant was clean, decorated well, and family friendly. The food was pretty good as well. They serve both noodles and rice with the entrees. We always enjoy a fun hibachi experience.

Don't go here this place is a scam! I paid $31 for the two combination dinner with steak & shrimp and this is all I received. They are ripping people off not giving you your money's worth. This is a ration plate for $31 and everyone else was unsatisfied with their portions. I will not be returning to this place again! Compared to other Japanese steakhouses, this one is a scam due to the price you're paying for the amount of food they give you. Any other Japanese steakhouse would fill your plate up for the price you're paying but not this place. Don't go here unless you want to be scammed!!!
