I'm on the hunt for the best General Tso in CLT. Unfortunately New York Restaurant only gets 3 stars. The texture isn't good. Too much breading and kinda spongey. The flavor was fine, but I just can't get past the texture.

Service is good. Order at counter, just 8 tables inside. Standard American-Chinese fair. Impossible to get them to make anything even remotely spicy--and no hot sauce available on tables or to go. I cannot get over this, and results in a minus-1 star rating. General Tso's chicken, Sa Cha Shrimp and Chicken, and king pao chicken have all been orders and eaten in full. Lunch can be a little busy, but I've always had a seat if I wanted it. But mostly get to go and eat back at the office.

I have found my go to for Chinese take out!!!Not only is the food delicious, it's reasonable !!We recently ordered a large egg drop soup, boneless bbq ribs, crab rancoon (oh my gosh!! Yummy- you get 10 large pieces per order) chicken lo mein dinner and broccoli beef dinner (comes with either fried or wht rice and an egg roll or spring roll) and all of this for $40!!! We even had lunch for the next day! Give them a try- you will come back!

same planet, different world: apparently tables in a chinese takeout is a carolina thing... and dining in too? four for four on the tally.probably the best chinese take out I've had in the south, crab rangoons are properly pinched across the corners and well filled with a crabby cream cheese fluff leaving some room on top for hot mustards :-)lunch-size kung pao chicken is really just too much of a good thing paired with a generous serving of fried rices: green peppers, bamboo shoots, baby corns, water chestnuts, and chickens and peanuts and stuff in a light gravy (plus mushrooms) is just like mother used to order out. fried rice is exactly that and stands up well to being served omelet-style in the finest tradition....and an egg roll :-)

Good, family run business. Food is very good, fast and reasonably priced - my go to restaurant for Chinese food in Cornelius!

Is this "4 star" food? Not really, but I love cheap Chinese and these guys do what they do. You can eat there if you want to, but seems like more of a to go place. Not quite as cheap as bottom of the barrel Chinese, but still really cheap lunch.I ordered some chicken with mixed vegetables and some General Tso's chicken. Both were great. Perfectly crispy and sauced General Tso's. The chicken with mixed veggies was really heavy on the baby corn and could have used more sauce to bring it together. Could also use some spice, but I guess that would be on me to ask.All in all, its pretty good. Not quite China Bistro good, but close enough and I'll stop back by if ever in the area.

Not a fan. Barely edible. Meal had no peppers, rice was mushy. Chicken had odd shapes and texture.

I guess you didn't read it. I did not give you a favorable review. The food sucked. Everything needs to be fresher. Everything was old.

I took the food back and the lady takes the bug and squish it in between her fingers and said it was a piece of the mushroom.
