Overall, my experience was amazing. The food was overwhelming fried but absolutely delicious, and there were plenty of things to do other than just riding rides. I had first arrived with my younger brother and my older sister around when the fair had just opened. We first hit the caterpillar kiddy-coaster, and it was absolutely thrilling and ran much smoother than the model they had at the Youth Fair in Miami-Dade. We then went on this odd barn ride that would elevate and slowly swirl you around. We then waited in line to go on the absolute fair classic; the bumper cars. I was a bit dissapointed, as the steering wheels on several of the cars did not work. They would steer in random directions, and it was pretty difficult.Next me and my older sister went on the Cyclops ride. If you enjoy that type of ride, good for you! I do NOT, so I was pretty scared, but it eventually ended. After that we explored the little sponsor stands they had and it was pretty cool. The rest of the day was amazing, if you plan on going, I recommend going on the Surfer and Auto Bahn (if you have the stomach)!

I've had a sense of wonder with the fair since I first read Charlotte's Web.That may sound strange, but the manner in which EB White describes the fair, the food, the rides, there's excitement and awe galore. Little has changed since 1952 when Charlotte's Web was first published. Cotton candy, Navajo Blankets, games of skill, and the ferris wheel.... Lasting staples of fun. We are lucky to live to a place that has a fair come through each year. Of course, fairs have evolved into a land where anything and everything can be fried. Funnel cakes were so mid 20th century. Going to the fair gives you the excuse to celebrate the glory of frying anything and everything. Oreos, Twinkies, Snickers Bars, Cheesecake, an entire peanut butter and jelly sandwich on a stick. Go Nuts. You're an unstoppable juggernaut of crispy battered goodness. Once you're food drunk on deep fried delicacies, take some time to appreciate the exhibit hall and the incredible art that can be found there. Submissions from artists of all ages and skill are loaded in like a veritable Noah's Ark of creative glory. Be amazed by dioramas, textile work, produce, preserved and canned items, wood working. Glory.

Everyone loves the fair. The lights and food overwhelm the senses. I really wish that the rides were better kept. I understand the struggles for a fair moving town to town. I paid $20 to ride unlimited rides but quite a few were down. The food is always good. Always expensive but always good. I'll be back next year. Change out bulbs and maintenance the rides more please so they can be open.
