The food is truly good and homemade. Hubby had the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and fried okra. I had the Carolina burger and homemade chips. We both loved the food. The service was great also.

Aptly named as Nana's IN the kitchen! Truly home cooking, with a set menu and specials every day. Breakfast and lunch only, no alcohol, tea so sweet you could sand a spoon it it - and you can't beat her prices. Fav's are grilled cheese and veggie soup, hamburger and tater tots, and any of the specials. One odd thing - closed on Saturday, open on Sunday.

Pure and simple, Nana's is a staple of small-town life. Whether you call it a small country cafe or locals' diner, it dishes out good food at reasonable prices. I give it 5 stars, because there are plenty of this type of restaurant everywhere in America and this is what they should all strive to emulate. On a Monday at lunch, most of the tables are filled well before noon. This was our second visit here.Nana's has daily lunch specials, no surprise. Today it was grilled salmon over a house salad or with two vegetables.Sophia and I both chose the salmon. At only $8.25, you wouldn't expect much. But alas, it was really good. The salmon, a good-sized piece, was cooked better than at much fancier restaurants in bigger cities. They have an extensive fresh vegetables list and other side dishes, so there is something available everyone can be happy with. The iced tea was good, even though served in the dreaded plastic cup.If you want an inexpensive hot meal for lunch or breakfast, (they don't serve dinner), this is your go to place in Tryon. As a bonus, you can watch the lone server handle the entire restaurant (it seats 51 people) by herself - and she doesn't keep anyone waiting! Kind of like dining room ballet.

What a great little restaurant! The service was great and the food was like home cooking! I had the pancakes with eggs and sausage and my husband had the meat lovers omelet with a biscuit and hash browns. The hash browns, were probably the best I've ever had! Our bill was under $20!

Was surprised there were no reviews for this place but once stepped inside I knew why. Sunday morning visit about 10am. Crowd all local. Mostly older folks either going to church or after early am service. Locals keeping it to themselves. Wife and I ordered omelettes and they were outstanding. Great grits too. Great service. Place is nothing fancy but clean, good people and good food so all good. Will return if in the area.
