Nagano Japanese Restaurant

The egg roll app was delicious however, the tempura shrimp was kind of flavorless. There were huge chunks of shrimp, mushrooms, broccoli, and onions fried together, and oddly, they did not serve knives to cut the large pieces. The "side salad was a large portion of bagged lettuce and tasted so. The Chicken mushroom teppanyaki was nothing more than okay. The staff however was top notch. Friendly, fast and attentive. The restaurant has a drive through and that made the entrance was hard. We didn't bother bringing leftovers home.

Long wait for service though waitress was really trying. They were "out of wine and beer." Seaweed salad had a chemical taste and the shrimp and ginger sauces just seemed off.

The restaurant is right off of i40 exit 128. It is a beautiful building inside and out. The lady who greeted me was super friendly and helpful. She invited me to bring family back and enjoy the restaurant. I ordered sushi , which was delicious. Definitely give them a try!

Super good every time we have it. Was recommended to try this place from a coworker. It does not disappoint! We go here quite often now. I love the drive thru pick up window also! Highly recommend!

Yummy hot sake. The server was great she was really nice and pretty :) the soup was extremely bland. The sushi was reallyyyy good! Would def recommend that. The hibachi part was so so I probly would only go back there for sushi and sake. Reasonably priced!

We were totally shocked by the behavior of the woman who apparently is the owner of Nagano Japanese Restaurant 1226 Conover Blvd Conover NC 28613. My wife is Gluten allergy, the waiter we had was nice enough, he seemed unsure about Gluten though. We were working with him to try to get something my wife could eat. Suddenly a small Japanese lady comes storming out to our table with a menu, at first we thought she came to help us. Her accent was so heavy some of what she said was hard to understand; also she was raising her voce louder and louder. "Maybe you need to not have come here" "You should had studied before you came here" are phrases I caught, she was very rude and demeaning to us. My guess is she is accustomed to getting away with cutting people apart like that. She was asking us to leave. Our poor waiter didn't know what was going on, Of course we just made tracks out of there before things escalated out of hand, we were not going to hang around and be treated like that. On the way out I saw our waiter coming in from the back, he had not heard any of the yelling I don't think. I was shocked to be a witness to a business owner being that rude to a customer, let alone have it happen to me! They must have all the business they need & not care about how they appear.

This was my first time here. Looking from the outside this place looks good, however at 6pm the parking lot was not so busy.that was my first clue.After entering and being seated I noticed there was no Asian clientele. This was my second clue. After looking over the menu I did not see so I enquired if they had Sashimi. They did not. I ordered a salad with ginger dressing and sushi. The dressing was not the traditional ginger dressing you get from a Japanese restaurant. Not exactly sure what it was but is was a reddish color.The sushi was very small just barely covering the rice. The wasabi was the type that appeared to come from a squeeze tube. The sushi was very so so. The shrimp was either grilled or torched then placed on rice as sushi. That is different from any I've had before. The eel was a bit mushy.My honest opinion is 3 stars is generous.This place could use some traditional Japanese changes to the menus and focus on high quality over low price. The meal I had was inexpensive but I was looking for high Japanese quality and great sashimi. In both cases I was mostly disappointed.This place has the makings to be a very good restaurant but needs some strong management updates.

Went here for sushi and both my partner and I ended up with food poisoning. The fish on the sushi was not cold and rice was very dry. I wouldn't recommend...

It has been years since I have been and I will admit I have missed it. I got a quick to go order for lunch today of the dumplings and an order of shrimp tempura for my daughter. Service was fast and the price was good for what we received. Tasted amazing, and hit the spot!!! I will definitely have to do a dine in lunch soon! The stage was so friendly for as busy as they were.

Delicious sushi and soup! They were quick, friendly and affordable! I will definitely order from there again.
