The fish and grits were amazing! Service was great. I went for brunch and our server was great and the owner! Everyone enjoyed their food. The restaurant is tucked away in a shopping center... I was able to substitute my catfish for flounder! I also had a peach bellini and that was good as well. If you want some good fish and grits definitely run over

Mr. Charles Chicken & Fish is a good soul food restaurant with a laid back atmosphere. I got the Flounder dinner with hush puppies, Mac and Cheese, Yams and a roll. The flounder was well seasoned. The Mac and cheese was good and cheesy but the Yams was the best thing in the meal. The Yams were perfectly sweet and savory. To satisfy my sweet tooth we got the miniature sweet potato pies. The pie filling was sweet and buttery with a delicious graham cracker crust on the bottom.The Service was quick and the employees were nice!Highly recommended

We stopped in here on a Sunday around 620 and they wouldn't seat us because they close at seven. We found the information on Google and it said they closed at 10. So we went ahead and ordered and didn't get our food until 650. Not ideal because we could've eaten here but they don't seat anybody after 615 Sunday fyi.It was my first time ever eating here and they had all the back doors closed my friend who lives in the area was pretty upset because she really want us to show us the place but that's the way it went. The staff was really friendly and really helpful and really welcoming. The food was out of this world. I absolutely love their greens. The chicken was fantastic. They were out of cornbread so that was a disappointment. The mac & cheese with smacking. When I return I will come back and I look forward to joining the karaoke I hear they do in the back that I wasn't able to get to. Hey it aint a perfect world thanks for reminding me.

Arrived abt 2:30 on my lunch break. Was seated immediately, but once seated took over 10min for someone to come to my table in spite of the fact it wasn't busy, seemed to be more workers than customers. Multiple ones walked past me and not one asked to at least take my drink order. I de my waitress finally did come, she said no one told her she had a table. Ok that's fine, but all the employees who walked past me couldn't have at least taken my drink order? What happened to team work? However the waitress was very sweet and friendly so that helped the situation some.Food was just ok for me. I got the American plate which was fried chicken, fish and shrimp. The shrimp was delicious and huge. The fish was ok, could have been fried harder. Chicken flavor was alright, nothing to write home abt. The mac was a bit salty, and green beans didn't seemed seasoned enough. Cornbread and hush puppies were delish though. Overall would I go back? Sure, I would try some of the other items on the menu and just hope I have a better customer service experience.

There was literally one server for the entire restaurant. They did have a hiring sign in the front door. Maybe they should make it bigger or advertise on various places, as this was not sufficient . The server was very friendly, however, he was doing the impossible.It takes a very long time to get your order. It took over an hour and a half. To get my food order was placed at around 3 o'clock on a Friday. Do not come here on an empty stomach.The place is clean and well lit. The decor is very inspirational and motivational. In the music is a smooth R&B theme.The whiting and the fried chicken were good however, the greens have a lot of vinegar and we're not to my liking. The mac & cheese is homemade and the hush puppies were just OK. The yams were very sweet. The drinks are not strong at all. The price you pay does not match the price on the menu. They need to reprint their menus to reflect the price that you are charged. But after waiting so long to get my food, I was ready to go and willing to pay the additional dollars per each item.They have karaoke in the evening starting at 8. It can get crowded. Good vibe and nice people.

I cannot stress this enough: please check your bank account if the manager of this location claims to void any transactions and refund your money.I waited a few days to give this review to allow sufficient time for the credit owed to me to post to my account. This includes allowing a day for the federal holiday on Monday, February 19.Last Sunday, the 18th, I placed a to go order totaling $46.55. It wasn't until after I placed the order that I was told they'd run out of most of the sides I'd ordered and had limited options available. After consulting with one of my family members via phone, we decided to just cancel the orders and I would pick up dinner elsewhere that had what we wanted available. The only thing we decided to keep was an order of fish, no sides, to which the manager stated she would only charge me $4.50 ($4.68 including tax).What should should have been an easy refund for the difference turned into an ordeal. The manager seemed to have difficulty voiding out the items in their point-of-sale system. This was an immediate red flag. I asked for a hard copy of the receipt as proof of my refund. She kept trying to show me on the POS screen where she voided everything out and only charged me for the fish. I explained that was insufficient, I needed a copy of the receipt in case the refund didn't go through and I had to dispute the charge with my bank. Finally, she managed to print a copy. However, the receipt showed she refunded me in cash, not back to my card. Red flag number 2.After waiting all week and diligently checking my account, the refund she claimed she processed never posted, as I suspected it wouldn't. Unbeknownst to her, I work in banking and knew better to press to get a receipt and not take her word for it. I had to file a dispute with my bank and am in the process of hopefully getting it resolved. I say hopefully because I had to submit a copy of the receipt, which looks like she refunded me in cash but she didn't.For what it's worth, the food here is always good and we will likely continue to patronize the business. Just please do your due diligence and make sure they follow through with any refunds as promised.Side note to the manager who claimed their schedule hasn't changed. Yes, it has. We frequent this location all the time. She tried to imply I didn't know what I was talking about because, her words, "you're not a regular." Yes, I actually am. Just because you haven't seen me before doesn't negate the fact that yes, I am a regular customer. How else would I know your schedule has changed, and even the voicemail on the phone states their schedule has changed. Based on previous reviews, though, her lack of service isn't surprising.Also, the front of the house should be aware of what's available and not sell certain foods or sides when they're out. Let your customers know before ringing up orders so we can decide before paying for it and not have to fight to get our bank accounts refunded properly.

Food was good.Service was great!Music and atmosphere was very nice.Suitable to every age and attitude!

I've visited this establishment four or five times and the food was consistently very good. I love the fried Salmon the most and the shrimp.

this was my 1st time eating here.seriously doubt I'll ever return unless I win the lottery I ordered the lobster bites "appetizer" & $19.49 for 10 little fried bites is a bit much for nothing.i basically paid to look at & suck on a lobster tail shell you gotta be a Dr,lawyer or drug dealer to afford eating here

Everything was great! Super friendly staff and yummy chicken 10/10 would recommend. Everything was clean and the atmosphere was great.
