So today I stopped at green brothers juice for a smoothie and a Move That Dough blueberry lemon doughnut. Let me tell YALL that was an amazing experience. The pop of the blueberry in your mouth compliments the moist and gooey doughnut. The fresh ingredients really come through in the doughnut. It is the perfect blend of flavors. The doughnut is moist and gooey and just wonderful. It's also made out of ingredients that are good for you. I can't wait to get it again.

Let me just start out by saying if you are looking for a delicious, natural, and healthy donut then this is the one for you! After just moving to Charlotte I have been a little overwhelmed at the sheer number of donut places to try and explore. I saw these unique donuts while I was browsing and decided to give them a try. I quickly learned that these donuts are EXTREMELY popular and tend to sell out very quickly so get your hands on them early! The donuts themselves are very dense and cake-like but contained an extremely moist inside not dry like many cake style donuts tend to be. The glaze is also amazing while it can be sweet but not overbearing and not leaving your hands sticky or oily. These donuts are unlike any other kind of donut I have ever had and are hands down extremely delicious and worth a try! Each donut starts at about $3.50 which can be pricey but is most definitely worth the quality. These donuts are 100% natural vegan-friendly (no eggs or buttermilk is used) and she does not use any kind of artificial flavors, colors, or GMOs. They are made fresh with completely different flavors from week to week and are sold at select shops on Saturday and Sunday. The best way to find out what the flavors of the week are and where they will be is to follow them on Instagram at Movethatdoughco. Currently, it seems the best places to try these donuts are The People's Market Dilworth, Urban Grind Roasters, Central Coffee, Queen City Grounds, and Green Brothers Juice Co.

Let me start by saying I am NOT vegan or vegetarian but I adore these donuts...and the other desserts offered. You can tell there's love in the process. Seasonal veggies and fruits are used and they are sourced from places that seem to value small farmers and food produced without a lot of junk. That's what makes me want to go back over and over. The gluten free chocolate donuts are delicious as well as the chocolate mallow cake. Both taste like regular cake. You don't feel like you're missing anything. I haven't tried a single one that I didn't like. Keep doing amazing !!!

Delicious, plant-based donuts! I'm not from Charlotte, but have looked for these donuts on a few occasions when in town. I usually to find the bakeries or markets all sold out by the early afternoon hours! Recently, I found some at The People's Market @ Dilworth, and they were great. I enjoyed a banana-oatmeal flavor, Twix, double chocolate, and pumpkin. Moist and full of flavor! You can follow the baker on Instagram to find her drop off spots - @movethatdoughbakingco

I have a fetish for gluten free donuts and was on the hunt for some while visiting the area. Only thing was, I couldn't find any store front. I ended up calling after driving around for 30 minutes. Do not call the number listed on this Yelp page, instead, go to their Instagram page to find their treats. I went to east side local and they had two gf donuts to choose from and I purchased both. An added bonus, east side local is a cute little spot with quite a bit of outdoor seating.

I love the ladies behind this biz and well as their delicious vegan offerings. You can tell the bakers are super passionate about what they do, as well as being socially-conscious on a number of important issues. Check out the IG @movethatdough for information about ordering and pickup (available at a number of shops and pop-ups every weekend). They even have gluten-free options available to order! When I tried the GF brownie doughnut, the first doughnut I'd eaten in YEARS, I cried because it was so delicious. This is a biz well-worth supporting!

I was never a huge fan of donuts until I came here. The ingredients used to make these donuts are so thoughtfully picked; Local, organic ingredients, no refined sugar, no artificial food colorings and so much love is put into them. I am willing to pay 3 dollars and some change for a donut because you can just taste the high quality of these sweets. For example my blueberry lemon donut had real ass blueberries in it this morning. REAL ASS. DEAD ASS. They just set up their permanent shop at ESL Eatery weekends only. If you want a donuts and other sweet treats GET THERE EARLY! They open at 9 and usually sell out by 11. Trust me, I have gotten there at 11 and been very sad :( You can pre-order variety boxes (regular and gluten free) on Kacie's instagram @movethatdoughbakingco Tuesday and Wednesday each week so you don't have to get there early. They also deliver.....Eat here. You will not regret. Thank you Kacie and team!!
