Fantastic wooden playground! My 2 year old loved it. It's all wooden or roped with the exception of the slides. Bridges, nets, rope climbs throughout! I reallllly appreciate how this playground is designed ie not having multiple cutouts at the very top (so I don't have to worry about my toddler falling). This playground reminds me of the ones I played on way back in the 90s. Lots of parking. Nature center on site. I will be back when in the area!

Beautiful park! The county has spared nothing when they planned this park. They have paved trails, kayaking, kids playground, dog park and more. They havepicnic stations and tables with umbrellas. They also have a nature center and a ranger on site. I was very impressed with this park and will return. This is well worth a visit and can't wait to return.

Checked out Mountain Creek Park on a gorgeous Saturday morning to check out the hiking trails. Super easy to get to from Charlotte. It's actually just 10min more than just heading to crowders and we'll worth it.All the facilities are brand new: office, restrooms, playground, pickle ball courts, dog park, and kayak launches as well as very well marked and maintained trails. Some trails are "hikers only" others are "Mountian bike only". Be sure to pay attention to the one way direction signage for hiking and biking, but the mountain bikers we encountered gave us a good warning before coming upon us. We also kept our heads on a swivel just to be extra careful. The park rangers and staff are super friendly and there are plenty of maps and markings throughout the park. Make sure to check online if the trails are open or not! It's good that they close them when the trails are muddy or conditions are poor so that no one gets hurt and the trails don't get torn up.Lots of parking and picnic areas here! Overall a nice place to spend a day outside with friends and family.

It was a great grand opening for a new park in Catawba County! Lots of vendors and activities for the kids! This is the place to be for bike trails and play time for children with lots of energy. Parking is free! Large number of parking spaces. Dog park available also but keep your pet on a leash.

A really fun, brand new park with lots to offer. There is plenty of parking throughout, so you can park close to whichever activity you are doing. We went to the playground and walked on one of the trails. The playground was very nice and quite large. There is a lot of net involved in the playground so if you're little one is a little scared, this may be a little too advanced. There are plenty of benches surrounding the playground with trash cans and a bathroom. The paved trail that we took, Stormie Normie, was really nice down to the water where we saw the kayak drop in area and another waterfront area. There was 2 picnic tables in that area as well, in the shade, perfect for lunch. There is parking in the lake front area, if you wanted to just park there and not take the trail. Great park and can't wait to come back to see what else it has to offer.

So much fun! We love the paved trail, Stormie Normie. The kids absolutely love the playground and my 2 year old enjoys the little critters inside as well as the butterfly photo op painting. We still have so much to explore!
