Mount Pleasant Smokehouse... yeah, that's a no from me.While waiting for my order, I watched other customers' meals and already had a feeling this would be money wasted. I took everything home to give it a fair shot, so here we go:Mashed Potatoes - Definitely better with gravy. The homestyle potatoes, with the peel included, were a nice touch. Without gravy, they needed salt and pepper. The gravy itself had a brown mushroom flavor that gave the potatoes some much-needed taste.Hushpuppies - Crispy on the outside, soft and full on the inside. No complaints here.Baked Beans - A complete miss. No flavor at all--just bland, straight-out-of-the-can vibes.Ribs - They pulled apart easily, but despite the light saucing, they had no real flavor.Brisket - Had a nice smoky taste, but definitely needed sauce. Unfortunately, the vinegar-based sauce they provided was a mistake--thin, watery, and just bad.Chicken - The best thing I tried. Recommend; Yes; not the best BBQ by any means BUT, certainly some INCREDIBLY super, super speedy and very professional customer service!!The brisket sandwich just didn't have any flavor whatsoever. The cheesesteak had much more, in our opinion. Fries were completely store bought flavored and nothing special at all, seriously. A corn dog was presumably just package-opened from Costco or Sam's and heated up. The meal was truly satisfying, again EXCELLENT customer service, just don't expect what I would identify as above average taste in anything much less to write home or to Grandma & Grandpa about. Good place, simple and satisfying.

Absolutely amazing meal!!To start the service was wonderful. Very upbeat servers. Our order was also brought out extremely fast! My wife and I love burnt ends. In a lot of places they often run out. We were lucky and both had them. They were amazing. MEAT CANDY!! Best burnt ends I have had since moving to NC. The Brunswick stew was tasty and the onion rings were top notch. The Mac and cheese is scratch made and the hush puppies were amazing. We could not find 1 negative thing to say.

Wonderful food. my friend got the pulled pork and it was dry but they suggest you add your own sauce . the service was amazing!! they brought our food out very fast. overall it was a wonderful experience and it's very local. brisket is so good. i definitely recommend it!

Great tasting bbq. Tried all the sauces too and they were tasty! Helpful recommendations too from server. Good chewing ice too!

I sampled a few things here and loved everything I tried. The pulled pork and banana pudding were especially tasty. Loved the sauces too.

Good food. Good service. Great portions. If you're nearby, it's worth it. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here. It's standard BBQ but their ribs were fall off the bone delicious.

Had to stop. Was told some years back this is a must cost for true barbecue fans. And I was not disappointed. The he aroma when I got here was amazing that pit fired smokehouse smell was just mouth watering. StephanieH took my order of ribs, pork, brisket baked beans and fried okra for a dinner feast fit for anyone who yearns for that true smokehouse taste. You do not want to miss stopping and dining in or taking it to go. Just realize if you take it to go you will probably stop cause you will never make it home without at least hitting the hush puppies. Oh my might need to come up with another story the hush puppies will never make it home. They are so gooooooooood!!!!!!!! Maybe I turn around and go back for more .... Maybe stephanie H will have a heart and give me more.

Food was awesome...brisket and bbq chicken...perfect ! The waitress was very helpful and pleasant.

This is the second year in a row that we had the Mount Pleasant Smokehouse cater a large event for us. We ordered food for 80 people, and our order was delivered at the time requested and piping hot. Our menu included pulled pork barbecue, smoked chicken quarters, baked beans, green beans, and macaroni and cheese. This was a church event so several volunteers provided our desserts, BUT Mount Pleasant Smokehouse banana pudding is excellent! Obviously I recommend Mount Pleasent Smokehouse because we had them cater two years in a row, and yes we will have them cater our next big event.
