Really cool spot. It is a little hard to find but it is worth it. The area is bigger than I thought. There is staff all around the area in the station so if you have any questions, feel free to ask them everyone is very friendly and the prices were good for what it was. Lots of trains lots of learning and lots of things for kids to play with of all ages. We were here for about an hour and a half and we probably could stay longer if we weren't on a schedule.

I visited the Model Trains Station for the first time on 12/21/22 with my family. My great niece(10), great nephew(6) and great great nephew (16 months) had a really good time. We all enjoyed the display. The retired men that keep this going are very friendly and readily share information about what they live doing. I recommend that you check it out for an activity that won't cost an arm and a leg to do! well done men!!

It's hard to believe this place only has 5 other reviews on Yelp! It was spring break and I wanted to find something fun, unique, and local for the kids to explore. After lunch at Carmela's Pizzeria my parents, kiddos and I headed to Model Trains Station in Taylors Mill. Like Lori wrote, it can be a bit difficult to locate this spot, but if you peruse their website and follow their directions to a T, you will get there. It was pretty amazing to stand inside the mill. This place is huge and even though it is empty I can imagine seeing the workers from days gone by. It must've been stifling to work in there during the hot summer months. They should really consider turning this place into a museum itself. Once arrived at the Model Trains Station there is an area to purchase your tickets and other informational tidbits. Then you head back into their 16K sq. ft. of space and get to take a look at all the stations some amazing people have built. They also have an area for children to play with toys, games, and read books. I like the fact that they have room to and are trying to expand with more stations and that gives us a reason to keep coming back. They have been around 7 years and the word should get out more. It was definitely a fun, unique, and local experience we were looking for. Happy yelping!

An non-profit interactive model train exhibit hall, staffed by volunteers passionate about model trains. Most the the displays were personally built by enthusiasts who have donated their private collections to the museum. They are the life-long passions of all those who are a part of this place.Kid friendly, with push buttons to operate trains and displays.

This is a wonderful display and entertainment for kids and grownups too. The volunteers are very knowledgeable and generous with their time. There are many displays of n, ho, o , g and s gauges, including a computer driven n gauge display that controls train movement and signals. Don't let the entrance fool you. It is located behind an old and dusty empty millwork building. But once you're there you'll be surprised at this treasure. We took our grandchildren there yesterday and as we left, the kids asked "when can we come back?" It was a great use of some free time!

Took my 3 y.o. grandson and I am not sure who had more fun, him or me. It was magical. Cannot believe the attention to detail and I personally appreciate how engaging the activities were. This is a non-profit and the fees were very reasonable. I will return with my grandchildren every year and maybe go for the fun just with my husband. Thank you to the volunteers and all those who have donated these fabulous exhibits!!!
