Mocksville Family Restaurant

While visiting a friend that lives in the area, we headed here for dinner. The restaurant is very modern with a farmhouse feel. The restaurant seems very popular as it was fully seated with a long line to pay when we arrived.We were sat fairly quickly. I knew if they had a Greek platter I was in! My friend ended up getting the Large Crab Cake Platter. It came with 3 crab cakes and two sides. She got a baked potato and hush puppies. We thought it might come with 2 so she shared the 3rd with me.I got the Greek Souvlaki Platter with chicken. It comes with pita, a Greek salad, French fries, and tzatziki sauce. I was very happy with everything. The French fries were super crunchy and taste delicious. I loved the platter, but the salad could've used some dressing. Overall, satisfying and I had some leftovers for another snack shortly after.Our service was good. Our waitress mentioned being new. She checked on us a few times. The girl who cashed us out was also very lovely.

Update: I've reviewed this before so this is a short update. Stopped in to have breakfast with my wife and daughter. Ordered the two eggs, with sausage patties, home fries and biscuit. Food was good, not great. Scrambled eggs were overcooked and dry and the home fries had a weird texture. I don't think they were fresh potatoes, probably a frozen mix. Service was excellent and a good, clean physical plant.Not as good as the the time we were there.

Didn't see my other review, but here are my thoughts a year later. At least things are still consistent!My favorite place to get an omelet! Some places don't use enough cheese or bacon, or it's not melted well.. not here! The perfect ratio of bacon to egg to cheese. I also really love whatever bread they use for their toast, it's not a regular loaf of bread, it's better.I really like their tea too!As far as service, today was the best we have had (not that we've had bad service). I'm not sure if he was a manager or owner, but one gentleman checked on us frequently with enthusiasm and he was not our server. Breakfast is our typical time to eat here, but we have gotten dinner to go and via DoorDash and I LOVE their country fried chicken and mashed potatoes. Ok, that is all. Go try an omelette!

My family and sons best friend stopped by in the way to the mountains and thoroughly enjoyed our meals. My son loved the bourbon-glazed pork tenderloin, my wife said her BLT was excellent and there was no shortage of bacon, and positive reviews on the country fried steak, I had the chicken pot pie, which was good but not excellent. Our waitress was on top of everything, our drinks never went dry. Sides: the mac and cheese was excellent, and the fries were excellent. One negative was the restrooms, not dirty just so long since updated they don't feel fresh.

Went in this evening (6/11/24) with my roommate for a late lunch. Our server, Adrian, informed us it was his first day. He was very polite and knocked it out of the park. Kept our drinks refilled and were very polite and respectful. I ordered the meatloaf w/mashed potatoes and had mac-n-cheese and green beans. The food was delicious. Everything tasted really fresh and well made. The prices are fair and you get a huge portion for what you pay.I definitely will come back. Not just for the amazing food, but I was very impressed with Adrian. For his first day, I think he knocked it out of the park. He's one of the best servers I've ever had in any restaurant. I will definitely come back!

Updating my review. I have been here several times, breakfast, lunch and dinner. I stand by my original review and rating.Quick Highlights- Traditional home cooking, Southern restaurant- Food is pretty good. Solid 3 1/2 to 5 stars depending on what you get.- Breakfast is one of the best in town- Don't miss on the dessert display (primarily cakes)- Service is friendly- Cash, cards and Apple Pay accepted- They add a 3 1/2 % to the bill if you use a card- You pay up front- Very clean restaurantVery solid restaurant. Damn good breakfast. Breakfast is traditional. Eggs, your choice of protein, toast or biscuit, and your choice of side (grits for me). Several omelet choices. They even have Eggs Benedict on the menu.Recommend.

Food is fair the only issue I have is ordering over the phone the order taker isn't English first language so we've had some hiccups over a handful of orders.

Always a great meal!! Food is always great and service is wonderful. Wether you are after some great fish and chips or some really good comfort food this is the place. Their Pasta dishes are really very good with chicken parm being my wife's favorite. You won't be disappointed!

Eat there often and they have not disappointed. Great food that's hot and tasty, excellent desserts (not sure if they're homemade or not but definitely top-shelf stuff), and they serve a pretty damn good breakfast! Absolutely horrible. I'm a diabetic and I asked for the tenderloin with no glaze or gravie because I knew the glaze was sweet. Well they proceeded to bring me out my food that was covered in glaze when I told the gentleman was wrong he proceeded to apologize and then the manger came out and started calling me ugly names and I'm sorry but if this is how you handle a restaurant you should be fired or even shut down. I even paid for it in the end even though I didn't eat a single bite.
