Finally made it here. As a lover of Peruvian food I wanted to try this not so chain Peruvian restaurant out. Located where the former Moes was in the Pineville Matthews shopping center with Bonefish and Panera. The place looked pretty clean although after ordering my food I noticed the sanitation grade was a 91...yikes. Anyways I went ahead and ate there. So let me start by saying the menu is large, so many different items to chose from and not only Peruvian food. I saw some Colombian and Venezuelan items. With that being said I was very shocked at the lack of standard side items. Literally rice and white rice at that, pinto beans and like one other things. All other sides are considered premium sides and those premium sides would be basic sides at like hello chicken or viva chicken. I got the 1/4 chicken, white meat with reg side of white rice and premium side of plantains. For the dipping sauce I was limited to the yellow mild sauce or the spicy hot sauce. They were all out of the green mild sauce. Just for context I arrived at 11:40, they open at 11. Not sure how they ran out so fast but I would have loved to try it because the yellow sauce was just ok and the red was cold and just spicy no real flavor. Thankfully the chicken was flavorful and juicy, the white rice was white rice and the plantains were cooked beautifully. Also the cashier was great and provided excellent service. All in all, I would visit again but no rush to go back again. Viva Chicken still takes the lead for now for me. I would love them to mature their side menu, increase their sanitation grade and have the green sauce available.

If you come for the chicken, this place may be great. I did not come for the chicken. I am Peruvian and really like the Concord location. So, decided to try this location when in the area. We ordered Tallerin Saltado and Tallerin Verde con lomo (which usually is con bistec) and it came with angel hair pasta and super soupy sauces. Mediocre at best.I truly hate writing bad reviews, but I want it to be known that this is not an authentic Peruvian restaurant. That's not to say it's not a good food restaurant, just not authentically Peruvian. With that said, the restaurant was clean & service was great.

Twice I have come to pick up my food to go and it was not ready within the time frame they said it would be. I don't mind being told it will take 30 minutes over the phone but I do mind showing up after I've been told it will take 10 minutes and having to wait 20 more minutes at the restaurant for my food. The management needs to change this! most people don't mind waiting at home a little bit longer to leave to get their food, but they DO mind waiting at the restaurant. The food is a five star rating for sure, but they need to change telling people over the phone A timeframe that is unrealistic.

This place is fabulous. We ordered the whole chicken dinner that came with two sides. The chicken was moist and a wonderful flavor. We also got the green beans which were kind of roasted and cooked to perfection. And finally we got the sweet potato fries which had a delicate with a hint of some spice. Again it was delicious. This came with three little tubs of sauces.

Inconsistent. We've always ordered out. First two times was fine. Second time when we called in an order they took our order, billed our credit card, then told us they were out of chicken.... At 5:30 pm at a Peruvian restaurant?? That's like the Olympic Swimming Finals being out of pool water. Shouldn't have billed our credit card if they didn't have the goods.

Service was excellent! The young lady that took care of us was so sweet and attentive. The restaurant was very clean. The food was made to order and was done pretty fast, it came to the table perfectly. Food was great, flavors were spot on and everything tasted so fresh. The house made juices were also excellent. I loved the passion fruit juice. Will definitely be coming back.

That was the best bowl of chicken soup I have EVER had. $11. Huge serving. Incredible flavor. And it came with plantains, a heaping scoop of rice and salad on the side. Great house dressing. I'll definitely be back for lunch and carry out. What it lacks in ambiance it more than makes up for in flavor. Delicioso!!
