Had a wonderful time going to see the play "To Kill a Mockingbird" and highly recommend everyone go check out the Mill Town Players!I had been searching for something to do over the weekend, and came across info for the play. I thought I had found all the performing arts places in and around my area, but had never heard of this place, and sure enough, not even on Yelp yet. So I had to go check it out! The building is in the small city of Pelzer. It is an old but well kept Auditorium (don't you love plays preformed in buildings with history?) It had lots of free parking out front and was easy to get to. All the seats seemed great, but I did snag the front row for the same price as any other seat, which is awesome! I mean $10 to see a live production, that you can tell they really put their time, and poured their heart into - It was a great night. They have a good balcony area too if you prefer to see it from above. The crowd had a good energy, I knew I was in for a treat, especially when I walked in and saw the set. Everyone involved in getting that together needs a serious pat on the back. There were several very young actors in this particular play with very big parts, and honestly, since it is a community theater, I can't say I expected much. Boy, was I wrong! They did such an amazing job, real talent here! Everyone really blew me away, there were no weak links. A very amazing story, preformed here in the South (where the message still needs to get across sometimes). I'll be back to check out more plays here! Go check them out so they stick around too, we need art like this.

Our first visit to see production of Bright Star. This is a great little community theatre! The players were excellent. Everything was at a level well above expectations, the staging, music, fantastic! I would highly recommend this to anyone. Another nice plus, the ticket prices are very reasonable for live theatre. Thanks Mill Town Players and supporters.

Went to their production of Bright Star and everything exceeded my expectations. Pelzer is fortunate to have a great space and excellent production actors, etc. Bright Star was very moving.

Bright Star is a powerful script that is magnified by the Mill Town Player's innovative and stunning set design that features amazing wood work, creative design, and lights that build with the story. Actors come with various backgrounds and experience levels that combines for an authentic show of touching and powerful moments. Stand out Hannah Thompson vocally soared showing vocal abilities in blue grass, belt, and ballad that were synergistic as she switched back and forth seamlessly to her younger self several times throughout the show.

Performers and sets/music are great! The chairs are hard because this place is old, so bring a cushion or something. Also if you're on the plus size side of things, you're gonna be in a lot of pain and have indentations on the sides of your thighs for weeks. But really, great show and great performers. Also, just so you're not caught unawares, there are no refunds and there's a no drink/beverage policy in the auditorium.

I absolutely LOVE going to see Mill Town Players..! I have been going to see them for about 20 years, and I've never seen a bad performance; they just get better and better. Of course I have my favorites, but "Always, Patsy Cline" topped out at number 1 +. Saw it 4 times, and saw ,heard something different every visit. My brother is/was a big movie theatre buff; I had the pleasure of introducing him to live theatre, Mill Town Players, of course, and now, he says he'll never go to a movie theatre again.!! He has become the one to say," Hey, guess what playing next, you wanna go?" Off to another night of awesome, can't be beat, entertainment that you'll never forget.!
