Miku Japanese Restaurant

This place is super far from the city, but the fish was fresh and tasty. The chirashi does not look like a lot in the 6 individual bowls but it was filling. Comes with miso soup and a salad. Each rice bowl is seasoned. Service was fast as it wasn't too busy on a Tuesday night. Ambiance is chill and relaxing. I will come back again if I'm near the area!

Really cute restaurant! The fish was fresh and melt in your mouth! Prices were reasonable. We had a party of 9, a lot of sake and food, and the bill only came out to $355. The Tori Karaage:Chicken was moist and soft but the outside was crispy. Mayo was served as a dipping for itMiku Sushi:Usually I'm not a fan of cream cheese in my sushi but this time it wasn't overpowering or made the sushi mushy! I liked it a lot! The sauce used in it was delicious. A sweeter side of sushi Chirashi:HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! Each bowl is a different fish and a different flavor profile! I don't give this away too easy with sushi places. I'm from NYC where my most favorite sushi places exist and since I've moved here it's the most missed cuisine for me. This place is solidly good. The fish is fresh, service is accommodating and the rolls are amazing. They will accommodate gluten free without crying! I will definitely come back here!

Came with CLT Asian eats to try out a "new to me" restaurant. Super yummy and great service. The chef is super kind and welcoming. Loved the variety of options. Our table ordered a little bit of everything, and had I not stuffed myself ahead of time, I would have grubbed with them. Also, because I'm that person, there's plenty of parking so no need to worry about scrambling. Highly recommend if you're in the south Charlotte area.

Went to check out Miku tonight! We got three speciality rolls including the Panther roll, Salmon Supreme, and the Surf&Turf. We really loved the first two and liked the Surf&Turf just okay. That is my fault as my original thought was I don't love sushi so maybe steak on top would make it better but I ended up LOVING the fish on top more. As steak doesn't go great on top of sushi in my most recent opinion. Definitely recommend the panther roll as it rocked! We will be back soon to try some more.

I was in the area, so swung in to check out at least one of their sushi rolls...The roll that I chose was this Crunchy Crab Roll, which included Avocado, Cucumber, Spicy Crab and Shrimp Tempura. The roll tasted surprisingly light and healthy (despite the crunchy Shrimp Tempura!)...which I liked. However, I thought it was also a bit light on flavor (not that spicy either, despite the "Spicy Crab"). The presentation was also a bit of a yawn (sloppy, really...look how loose the rolls look!). Guess I liked, but didn't love it. Still, if I feel like eating light, I may resort to this again. I also had their Edamame on the side...and loved it. Unlike the sushi roll, this veggie was thoroughly flavored...VERY tasty!The place itself was small, but had a sleek, open layout and comfy booths (loved their simple, crisp color motif - light wood and light green)...and the service was pretty good. Overhead music was also cool (though I already forgot what lol), and the A/C was optimal. I've definitely had better sushi rolls elsewhere...but I liked the laid back vibe of this place, and liked it enough to return.

So I found this hidden gem through a foodie instagram page. First thing I realized when I was driving and getting to the place, it was kinda out and far. The territory was unknown to me. The map isn't accurate so I would recommend when you reach the destination, to look at what's around so you can find it. The place is pretty small. I was expecting high end and busy but I went on a weekday and it was pretty slow/empty. The staff are very nice and complimentary. The drink was good and price were good. The menu had a lot of different things on it but mainly a lot of sushi. I love the appetizer I got as I love raw sushi'. Would definitely recommend. The curry was delicious and the portion look big. I think it can be share with another person. I like this place but I wouldn't go again unless I was in the area. It's a little out of the way for me.

Miku is definitely a hidden gem in the sea of mediocrity known as the sushi scene here in Ballantyne. From the moment I walked in, the staff not only made me feel welcomed, but also genuinely seem to appreciate me as a valued customer, which unfortunately is a lost art these days. Far too many places give off the vibe that customers are a hindrance and interruption to social hour at the hostess stand, so it was beyond refreshing to be greeted with a smile and asked how my day was going. Sounds trite, but small touches like these go a long way towards building a loyal customer base, so thank you Miku for training your employees well.From a sushi standpoint, everything was fresh, high quality, and had tremendous flavor, and this is coming from a guy who has been to pretty much every sushi restaurant in Charlotte, and these 3 traits are much harder to find here in Charlotte than one might think. And to top it off, the pricing was reasonable and actually represented a solid value for the quality received, as this isn't "all you can eat grade" sushi, it is the real deal, and you will be able to taste the difference.The service was efficient, personable, friendly, helpful and I never had to ask for my water to refilled (huge plus!). The sushi chef took the time to ask what I liked and then proceeded to make me a custom roll based on my response (it was amazing by the way!).So, if you are looking to cure your sushi fix in South Charlotte and you want to step up from the basic 101 level sushi, but don't want to pay "prime" pricing, definitely give Miku a shot, you won't be disappointed!

Fabulous sushi! We had a wonderful dinner celebrating our anniversary. We sat at the sushi bar and the sushi chef was friendly. We tried the Hawaiian roll and the charred snapper crudo. They were my favorites! Incredible flavors!! Also tried the cherry roll. They had exceptional sushi! Super friendly staff and service! Definitely want to return here again!

Amazing service! Our server was very attentive and the quality of fish is great for a reasonable price :). Will be coming back more often!!
